Knee Pain

That new forum section gets no traffic and I'd like an answer sooner than later.

Here is that thread.

Skiing today and did exactly what you shouldn't do when falling. Landed backseat, planted one leg, twisted it and felt a pop. 8 hours later, no swelling, just pretty bad pain when walking and such. No real pain when sitting down, maybe a slight ache once in awhile. There are two bumps about a 1/2 inch apart right below my knee cap that hurt if you push on them. Going to make an appointment because I really don't feel like sitting in urgent care for half a day. Doubtful, but does anyone know what it might be?

Update -

I have Kaiser for insurance. I don't know if any of you have dealt with them. I went to an orthopedist today and he said he can't say for certain what is wrong, but to wait 3-4 weeks and if it doesn't get better, then he'll schedule an MRI. He thinks its a sprain, but again not 100% certain. Should I get a second opinion from a different doctor, or just wait like he said. I just know a lot of you said you've had tears and your doctors were wrong when saying nothing was wrong. Also don't want to waste 4 weeks if there is actually something wrong. Maybe I'm just stubborn and impatient, but I'd just like some insight from those of you that have tore things.

eh if you went to a specialist, your probably in pretty good hands. That would be a pretty bunk orthopod if he couldnt tell if your ACL was torn straight away (i say ACL because backseat twisting fall is a pretty good ACL mechanism). Likely it is a SPRAIN of a lig, and will spontaneously resolve in a few weeks. RICE that ish bro.

^yea he'd probably know if it was a torn acl, he did the knee manipulation tests where he kinda pushed your leg in wierd directions right? they usually have a good idea if theres an acl deficiency from that. but if you have good insurance and don't mind the copay or whatever its up to you if you want to get an MRI. schedule that shit up if you're impatient
