Knee Brace Downgrade

So I'm about a year and half post op for my ACL/meniscus, last year was my comeback season and I felt stronger each day i was on the hill. I wouldn't say I'm 100% yet (my IT band is still tight as fuck) but I'm back to doing all normal activities without my brace (running, slack lining, basketball, trampolines). My physical therapist recommends wearing my brace for the next upcoming season. Although I got pretty used to the donjoy brace they prescribed me with, I'd like to downgrade to something not so heavy duty if I could. Anybody out there know of a good mid-grade yet stable knee brace that would be good for skiing?

I tried a couple of lightweight braces when my knee was being a dick and they weren't worth a shit for skiing. They were all good for preventing the tibia from going on vacation when I walked down stairs at work but did not provide any meaningful support for skiing.

One might well exist but I never found it. Either ski the big brace or build the hell out of your quads, that's what I did and a couple of times subsequently I've felt my knee start to go in a bad direction but just did the equivalent of a gigantic pistol squat and managed to save it.

Bingo. Get strong, and gain proprioception. You should instinctivly know the millisecond your limbs start to go into a dangerous position and be able to stop that pattern with strength, or use your strength to move your body around the joint to get it out of danger.
