Knee Binding for park?

Anyone have any experience with the Knee Bindings and park riding?

I would love to know if the extra release directions on the heel piece cause major issues with hitting rails and such. I have seen no coverage of them for park at all, yet as an older rider who has had knee surgery, they interest me greatly. I was trying to get a pair of them to review, but no one seems to acknowledge my queries whenever I bring them up on NS or elsewhere. Is anyone rocking these?

Just... Don't. Not a good idea. In general I don't know very many serious skiers who ski them or liked them. Especially for park. Maybe if you have a history of many ACL tears or something of the like.

From what I understand they're very heavy and they simply aren't as durable as your STH's, FKS, Axial's, etc.

The safest binding is a properly adjusted one that is suitable for your height, weight, and skiing ability.

Thats why I am interested. I had a major knee injury a few years back and anything that can protect it I am interested in giving a try.

I have done a great amount of research on the knee binding and I have seen a review on YouTube of someone who rode with them in the park but was far as performance goes I'm not sure it'd be the best binding to use in the park. Although personally I've never suffered a severe knee injury I wanted to look into this binding because I knew prior to going into skiing that skiing is notorious for acl tears especially in the park. As much as I wanted to take a safety precaution I also wanted the best performance so that's when I found the fks 140 they are a very heavy duty binding and you'll see a ton of park skiers with them and although they aren't meant specifically to save your knee the heel piece actually swivels around when you release laterally at the toe allowing for a very smooth release which helps prevent acl injuries or knee injuries in general. And I'm telling you right now that I swear this mechanism saved me from a knee injury just the other day when I caught my ski coming out of a 3. The fks 140 is a very trusted binding and it's main duty is to keep you in your binding for as long as possible and won't release unless it absolutely needs too. So I think the knee binding is mainly meant for older folks who have suffered acl tears and just want to recreational ski. You could probably use it for the park as well if you really wanted too. You could also look into a knee brace. Also don't set your dins more than you need to unless its a problem or you know exactly what your doing because you see a lot of race skiers get horrible knee injuries because their dins are cranked up really high. I'd recommend using the din that is meant for you and if you pre release a lot set it up a notch higher but again if you don't know exactly what you are doing I would not bring your dins up a lot because if you want a bad knee injury that's how you do it.

well seeing as no one here has ever ridden on the binding I would take their opinion with a grain of salt.

knee binding gave uvmfst like 12 pairs of bindings to give out to kids to test, and theres a lot of our good kids on them. they honestly are not as bad as everyone puts them out to be, in fact their pretty good. Sure they're kinda heavy and stand high off the ski, but I have rarely come out when I dont want to, which is saying more than the px 12's on one of my other sets of skis. I have also been skiing them at the recommended din for myself as a type 3 skier and the guys a Knee strongly believe in the 3+ skier type which means I should have the din even higher which would negate even more pre-releases.

NHOperator, Both me and Tim were the kids who skied with you at mad river during the east coast tour, and both of us have Knee bindings with minimal issues, you've seen how we ski, they would probably hold up fine in the park. and if your really worried I think theres a 14 din version coming soon.
