Kingpin or Tecton

Hey, its coming to the end of the season here in Europe and can get some great deals on gear at the moment. I'm moving to BC next year and planning to tour a lot more. I'm debating whether I should go for a Marker Kingpin 13 or a Fritschi Tecton binding. I'm 23, 5'9" weight about 80kg and mainly ski aggressively off piste like to hit cliffs etc and do the odd FWQ event. Currently on Tecnica Cochise 120s with tech inserts and Atomic Bentchetler. Will probably look at getting a lighter ski next season but just focusing on the binding right now.

I love the look of the Tecton due to its lateral release in the toe but a little concerned about people getting boot damage while touring uphill?? Let me know what you think!

just wait 6 months and buy the shift when it comes out

Ye I would but I work at a shop where I can get things at trade price at the moment but will be leaving there before the shift comes out and would't be able to afford it full price

bump

anyone got any more opinions on this Kingpin is coming in like 80 bucks cheaper is it worth the extra for the tecton?

Also has anyone any experience with bending the brakes on the tecton can't seem to get my hands on ones with anything wider than 90mm brakes

I own kingpins so I'm definitely biased in that regard, but I've never wished I had more binding.

I have both.

The kingpins are more susceptible to pre release than the Tecton, and aren't quite as elastic.

When touring, the Tecton has easier to flip lifters.

The Tecton has a brake that won't break...

The Tecton releases like an alpine binding.

I like both. You can't actually go wrong, but I do like the Tecton marginally better.

Thanks for this just had one quick question think I'll go for the tecton's but just wondering if you had any experience bending the brakes on them I can only get them with a 90mm break but will most likely be going on a 100-110mm ski?
