wish i bought a pair before they went under. heard that the SGN rakkar feels very similar to the it from cmd.

cmd, SGN and 1000 are all built under the same roof

Do they still? I havent seen much of rmu in scandinavia for the past couple years
 
Yeah they still do. Idk if they try to have a presence in Scandinavia but they do still press out of ÅSF. Seems they’re focusing on North American market mostly

Yeah, they were sold in selected ski shops in scandinavia some years ago. Remember looking at the rippahs.

They’ve been really pushing the bar/stores across N America like in Whistler, breck, Tahoe, etc. The logistical issues from last year or two probably meant they needed to limit exposure to get more skis to N America too. It’s funny how obvious it is which factory an RMU ski has been pressed out of. I’ve got some NeverSummer pressed RMU’s and they’re pretty different compared to the Meier or Åre Skidfabrik skis.

What factory makes the best ones? Heard mixed thoughts about åre skidfabrikk
 
Probably Åre followed by NeverSummer. Build quality at Åre looks cleaner. The NS ones have that very distinct look that Icelantic’s have with their sidewalls and topsheets
