Taken earlier today up the top of K-1 gondola. From the Killington Website.

They are trying as best as they can! Can hear the guns blasting the mountain from a real good distance. Mix of a few fans, bunch of the k3000's and the HKD low-e guns.

Plus, the warmup next week is not looking all that threatening as it will be breaking Tuesday night and getting cooler again.

Hopefully they can get some good production tonight and tomorrow night and have the mountain open!

dam dude seems lie you know your snow guns haha sweet I wish I had one of them in my backyard..aaaahhh *drool*

Saturday and Sunday 10am-3:30pm.

Snowmaking was VERY marginal down low, so there may be some short walks needed.

Lots of snow up top though in the Northridge area.

I'm pretty bummed about no mid-week, but seems they are barely opening this weekend even.

Hopefully they can get some more snow made middle of next week when it cools down again and open for good.

i know on their site it says maybe for next weekend. what are your thoughts? it doesnt look like its going to get as warm as they initially thought, so maybe more terrain/better top to bottom coverage for next weekend?

All depends on wehther or not they can fire the guns at lower elevations. They have PLENTY of coverage up high. The problem is the lower half of the mountain is thin.

Way too early to say yet. Anything past 7 days you might as well toss a dart with a blindfold on.

and when you say i don't want to know your thoughts, i'm assuming you mean you think they're not gonna last to next weekend? it looks like the warm spell goes away after tuesday. what's the general difference between what noaa, accuweather, etc say for killington vs. what it actually is on the mountain?

does any one know if you had to preregister for the rail jam tomorrow or if i just show up can i compete, my friend called and said they said that there isn't any more room for anyone at the rail jam or something like that

It was limited to 60 people and they held an only pre-registration last night.

It filled up real fast.

ya i cant take it how sunday river brags about being open while they dont have much terrain to ride.......its like cheating in the first to open race at least killi will have legit skiing

Well, SR did do a really good job in getting open and staying open each weekend given the weather. Huge kudos to them on that.
