i think some more info on what u want in a car would be helpful..

obviously all subarus romp through the snow, are reliable and fairly cheap to maintain...great cars. if your looking for a faster tweakable car that can handle snow ive seen some awesome eagle talon TSi 's which you can get without breaking the bank. or a mitsi vr4. my buddy had a TSi with 4 studded snow tires, which could handle the breck season no problem, and was a blast to drive. dont waste ur time with audi, i got a cheaper a4 and while its sick, you'll break the bank just keeping it running regardless of what u can find one for.

get a Subaru... seriously. I got one and love it. not to expensive, reliable, and pretty fun to drive. highly recommended.

Pick up an old Honda or Toyota. They can be found for under $400, parts are super easy to find and they're easy to work on. Plus, they can't really depreciate any further so when you have the money to get something a bit nicer you can usually sell them for what you paid.

You are gonna need to tell us a bit more.

Do you want to go car or truck?

How important is quickness?

How important is space?

Does it need awd? Where do you live? How much snow does it get?

Do you want mad interior comfort? Like leather?

Does it have to look sick?

Sedan or Wagon?

So many things you need to tell us before we can guide you...

welll i live in Central New York so we only have legit snow for 5 months, it really just needs to be cheap to maintain and reliable

Either will do
Well im 6'3" so its needs to be average sized...no compacts
New York, a fair amount
Comfort is good, but wont pay extra for it
Looking sick would be cool
Either

Just check craigslist, honestly theres thousands of deals out there for you, its almost impossible to narrow something down if you are going to be that vague. Just find some deals and post em up here.

if you live in central new york i would say you could easily get away with a fwd and quality snow tires. that civic would be a good car, how much and what model? get some steelies with snow tires to swap on for winter. i picked up 4 rims with 95% new snow tires mounted and balanaced for 350 on craigslist and was the best purchase ever. never got stuck in a 380 inch season. you can even get away with just 2 on the front if your trying to save money. the salt on the roads in ny will depreciate your cars value, keep that in mind.

that civic would probably be a great car. you know if you can get away with fwd, and it sounds like you can. and with only 55k, that is a screamin sick car, super low mileage
