Killbride is on Saga

Here's the thing: it all comes down to money.

I'm just speculating, but I would say it's reasonable to infer that Saga probably gave him the most money.

If it came down to it for you, would you rather ski for brands that pay you less and not be able to ski full time/professionally? or would you rather be able to ski full time and not have to worry about money because the brand you're skiing for pays you more than the other brands.

It's like Ahmet Dadali used to be sponsored by Under Armour, not exactly the "core" brand you'd think he'd be reppin'. Why was he with them then? Probably because they offered him the most money.

However, I think most of the time that you see guys really choosing which brand they want to sign with based on how well they think they would fit with the goals ("vibe") or the brand, is when both the brands in question ("core" and "mainstream") offer them the same amount of money or a similar amount. Granted there is always exceptions to this and some guys really would just rather sign with a brand that they feel they fit in with and they're willing to take the pay cut for it, if indeed there is a pay cut.

you're fucking silly if you think killbride got any money out of this deal. saga is definitely paying athletes a small amount, but its not like keegan had 5 companies sending him contracts all for different amounts of money. keegan isnt will, keegan isnt ahmet, those dudes have serious marketing potential and are worth paying for while keegan is just the new kid on the block, he might be the big guy one day but hes not there yet not even close

I really feel like Keegan is a much bigger deal than will Wesson for the average saga outerwear customer.

this is just so wrong. will won xgames real street, hes been making film parts for 10 years, he deserves to get paid while keegan is still earning that right. like i said before id be surprised if saga is paying him and hes probably just stoked to be part of the team because he probably has zero offers

There is so much misinformation and speculation in this thread I don't even know where to start.

But I'll try,

Every super unknown winner or finalist (with the exception of Keegan) we were either already in talks with or sponsoring prior to the event and were approached by them first. Additionally we had been watching them for a few years waiting to see if they were going to take their skills to the next level. The same can be said for Keegan. Who, through a mutual friend, had asked for some pants last winter to which we happily obliged.

With other athletes and contracts referenced, will and Jonah, you have to look at them in a case by case scenario. Will is a good friend and we didn't feel we could adequately support his career to the level we would like to at this time. Jonah was offered a contract but it was not what he was looking for/not as much as another brand.

I can't really say much to the "Keegan doesn't fit with Saga's style". That is complete opinion. We feel we have people on our team from just about every genre of freestyle skiing. All the way from Durtschi/Wiley to Steve to Franchino/Gaeta(who both also ski for HG). We approach people to sponsor because of their personalities and because we like to support those people who want to push and grow skiing.

Like I said, there is a lot of speculation in this thread. All that is fine. But maybe don't make up your mind completely about a brands image with a certain skier before the season even starts. We're beyond hyped that Keegan wanted to join our team and are really looking forward to what he brings to skiing and the future of Saga.

I read: Kilbride XXXLT line! do it

keegs just seems like way too serious and dope of a skier to have cheeseburgers on his outerwear. wish he stayed with tomahawk they're such a dope company

woah woah woah, lets leave the cheese burgers out of this.

Everything Saga said but especially that Keegan rides HG skis with Connor gaeta and Christian franchino who have both been rocking Saga for multiple years

also that Keegan was wearing Saga pants last season. Check his slvsh game at creation nation

also as Keegan said, AD wore Saga for like 10 years but y'all focus on Steve strop and think that's Saga.

You love Steve and you love Keegan- why not love Saga for putting them both on? we wouldn't have had see me Trillin without Saga. So I'm excited to see what Keegan cooks up next with their support.

All these kids so opinionated these days thinking they know what's best for other people. Who the fuck cares what you think. Yall should be congratulating him on doing something you dream of after beating it to your mothers high school pictures.

This still makes absolutely zero sense. Saga is "core", oakley and tnf would be examples of mainstream... seriously? You guys think saga is mainstream?

This whole 'i cant picture this athlete on this brand' shit is ludicrous, you guys keep doing you, i'll just leave it be.

I think he might mean Saga is more "core" in our little world of freeskiing. Tnf and Oakley are pretty universal companies, much of their winter attire is commonly worn by people who dont even ski.

Doesnt really matter to me at all, hes a good skier to watch and what he wears is beyond me.

yeah cause killbride is making the same amount of money. On a mildly related tangent- I'm sixteen and under the impression that 30 year old film skiers make money. Also, I have a small dick. /claim
