Kids going off the side of on jumps for rails boxes....

Ugh, snowboarders at my home mountain think this is like the most gangster thing ever. I always forget when I'm hiking a rail to stay far enough away fromt the lip to avoid these people, I've almost been hit a few times.
 
get over it, it happens everywhere and it is not that big of a deal unless it is 50 degrees out or they snake you to do it.
 
I always like to do this. But I jump off the edge of the kicker to catch the tranny that proceeds after the rail. So I jump a good 15 ft to the tranny below. Always fun! I just hate rails :P
 
Yeah I rarely hit rails anymore. With the current trend of gapping to the end of the rail and resorts with shitty park crews, most rails and boxes get severely burred up. Shit destroys your skis or if it's burred up enough at the end you'll just stop dead and eat shit. So now we just launch to takeoff. Maybe bonk the rail goin over it. It's just not worth it to me to destroy skis like that anymore.
 
ahaaha so good! i have been known to hit these snakers with my poles. My best rail trick to date was switch on to smacking gaper with pole
 
Totally used to do that until I got into park and found out it was frowned upon. Learned my first 180's off em cause they were the perfect size. Anyways, apologies for any lips I ruined.
 
They are often unaware of what they are doing and everyone has to start somewear or else skiing will die out, i just dont like it when the kids are over 8 and know better
 
i hate it when you're in a rail line and you need a certain amount of speed to hit it and a kid comes up in front of you going half the speed because they're not gonna hit the feature, and it slows you down because you dont have time to pass them and dont have enough speed to hit it
 
whats worse is 600 snowboarders ride in the same exact path and create an indent in the run up and landing so if you don't land perfectly square inside of it, you're going down.
 
not really, or at least nowhere near the same extent. I see ride on 50/50 trenches before and after pretty much any small feature.

Honestly, I don't mind people using lips as sidebooters, assuming they actually pop off the lip and make sure to not snake anyone. For me, the biggest issue is with people approaching features with zero speed, steamrolling the lip and thus knocking it down. There's nothing more frustrating than seeing lip after lip be destroyed.

I almost killed 2 kids on Friday, both in the same area one run right after the other, there is a c box raised on a pile of snow so kids are just going up and over the pile of snow near the end of the box, kind of like a mini spine. The way the in run is set up you can't see these kids coming in to hit it as there are trees in the way so I don't notice them until I am already on the box to which I yell fuck and try my hardest to not murder one of the fucktards. Oh and I think one of them gave me some lip but I couldn't hear him as I was listening to music, so I just laughed.
 
the worst was a few weeks ago i actually saw a guy teaching his kids to do this then they all did it as a train and high fived

dont do that it fucking hurts, some ass hole whipped me for "going to close behind him", when he was on the 2nd jump when i left, he chased me around the hill at high speed for a good 45 minutes. hands down scariest thing of my life
 
I guess you ski somewhere with what....45,000ft. of vert? 45 minutes is a long ass chase. You guys take agreed upon breaks?
