I was thinking about heading over there for a trip I ski at Mt washington on Van Island and the pow there is like cemente I was wondering if anyone's been there and what it's like?

KH has wicked pow on pow dayz. when i was there, the bottom 1/2 was crap casue it got rain, but the top bowls were wicked casue rain on the bottom mean snow up top. and if u dont mind a bit og hicking u can get to another few bowls and still ski back to the lift. good glades runs2.

yeah I went there ast year and it wasn't that awsome. They didnt have much snow. I would recomend that you go to Fernie BC instead, that place is like a dream. You'll love it. Its about 2 or 3 hours southeast of Kicking Horse.

dude fernie is way over rated and packs, its and interior whistler. Kicking Horse is absolutley insane. You gotta be willling to ski whatever though. golden only gets good snow on the occasion. I'd go to whitewater or something like that in nelson, its absolutley insane, so much snow, nobody there except hard core locals I 100% garuntee you it will be your best day skiing ever. But yeah KH is great, its really really big, and theres always good snow if you willing to hike. Just watch the ocnditions, I've seen it get real sketch there. peace

KH is dope, and Rockymountain is right, you'll always get sick snow if you're willing to hike, I grew up there and even now living in Whistler I sometimes wish I could just move back. 2 years ago I made 2 trips there over the season the first included a 2.5 foot dump to blue bird the next day and the second was a 3 foot dump to bluebird. I didn't get there last year cause the snow didn't really stabalize in the sled country.

I've been talking to the marketing department about a park and they're just not ready to have one, I hope to be able to convnice them to put one in for next season.

I think I'm going to try and organize a big air or a slopestyle comp there this year, late march or early april if the snow allows it.

kicking horse is awesome, i'm in calgary so i'm only 3 hours away and my friend has a cabin there, anyway basically kicking horse is heli terrain with a ski lift and with the heli terrain comes the heli snow, it's awesome, if you like steep chutes and wicked pow, go there

Ohhhh yeah. I lived there 2 winters ago for both of those big dumps. Interestingly enough the gondala happened to shut down both times for those two big storms and opened again when it stopped snowing. The first time there was over a metre of new snow. Some good jump building places too.

Another good thing about it is if you do hike, you actually hike into the next bowl (either way from the main gond) and for a quick maybe 10 min hike you get about 1000- 2000 ft vert of pow goodness, because the bowls all funnel back into the runs halfway down again.

I love that place a lot so I am a huge promoter of it. If you want to see some of the good stuff that there actually is there, go to biglines.com and watch either Chris or Tim Barker, or Ryan Johansens vids. Dont vote for them though. Go vote for Chris Vigh!

Kicking Horse is fuckin sick, everything about it, the shoots on the skiers left of the gondola are just like heli skiing on a powder day. Its just an amazing place....second most vertical in north america to wistler
