Keystone vs Breck (only debating park, not mountain)

Which do you think is a better all around park? I thought Keystone was great all year and they were really creative with all the stuff they had. I felt like breck had some great single hits but there wasn't anything really creative (ex: 2 or 3 rails put together for a great hit). Also I thought it was nice how the lift at Keystone was relatively uncrowded compared to the lift for Brecks park (or any lift that would take you to the park). NS what do you think?

I like the setup and layout of keystone much more. I feel like i am always getting snaked at breck. Mind u I am basing this off my visits in past years, not just this year

breck really just doesn't seem creative. Never been to either, but breck edits are boring as hell.

i thought key had more creative setups, but sometimes there were things that i thought were just silly.. like the railroad track jersey barriers to downrail, kinda silly. but there was some sick stuff all year. right before the last rebuild, i thought keystone was real boring actually. breck was consistently really good all year. i loved both

I thought Park Lane at breck was super sick and an awesome time, but extremely crowded. It felt like you could hit so many more features in a run then key. Key was still sick, but I had a little more fun in breck, because I'm not good enough to hit key's super creative stuff, like the triple elbow they had.

Skiing summit county for a season after coming from pa, my conclusions areSmall- Peak 9 park>incubator

Med...Park Lane>i70

Xl- to scared..

Lift lines.... key>breck

People/vibe key>breck

Not being that crazy of a skier, i prefered keystone. I70 is the best place ever.

sucks for you that you watch them in edits but you couldnt be more wrong.

keystones "creativity" is really fuckin scary stupid rails that are impossible to hit unless your a pro. more variety yes, but 60% of the rails at key are just stupid.

like so

this one actually wasnt that bad. but still fuckin stupid.

death

breck on the other hand has a variety of very rideable not as intimidating seeming rails (yet still challenging) that are actually fun to hit.

and keys jumps are shit (in comparison). never try any new tricks there. all attempts of new tricks occur at breck.

so sorry key's edits look more interesting because the crazy impossible rails they have, and barely trickable jumps, but the reason you see so many breck edits is cuz its the best. better flow. better jumps. longer laps.

all that being said im not hating on key. its the shit. fun as fuck. great on weekends to avoid crowds. and their rails are buttery smooth. luddat rainbow rail. and their tubes. and the wide dfdfd rail. but breck is just better. so sorry there are more breck edits flooding the channel. but its because its better.

/rant.

Agreed. There are some craaaazy fucking rails at keystone. I feel like some of the crazy pole jam jersey barrier things they had going were insane

Well this comparison is wrong. I would say that brecks parks on peak nine are comparable to I-70 and incubator, I-70 and Parklane is not the proper analogy either. Park lane would be considered to the alley and the medium line at key. I say this because the biggest jump in I-70 is the size of the first one in park lane

See I think the reason for that is that pole jams are super easy to hit on a snowboard so those features are fairly reasonable on a snowboard but can be damn scary on skis.

dude really? those rails really werent that bad. you must be a great big vagina if you were scared to hit some of those rails. that pole jam to double wide, while skiers could hit it, is primarily a snowboard set up. you have to remember that they build terrain that caters to both skiing and boarding.

sack up pizza boy

okay but honestly, did you do anything sick on any of those rails he posted? z to dfd-z? how many times did you even clean that? like ever? or the chain gap to down barrel? do somethin sick on that too? or when they had double jerseys to down tubes set up? how about the flat up flat up-donkey? there was some stuff in there at times that was seriously just NOT fun.

I cant think of a single feature at breck outside of maybe a couple freeway rails that wasnt super fun AND trickable. i was a keystone guy, but became a breck guy.

you know , doing tricks doesn't always equal fun.

these rails really were not that crazy.

I'd rather clear a really hard rail that gives you satisfaction solely by clearing it than doing a ''sick kfed'' on a 8foot flabar.

there is some middle ground between jersey barrier railroad tracks to downrail, and an 8 foot flat bar.

if you think breck had a lot of 8 foot flat bars, you were doing it wrong

keystone is home and I'm biased. no matter how much sicker breck is, keystone will always be better :)

keystone's layout does it for me, there's so many different park options all serviced by one chair lift that RARELY has lines (other than pre-season)....breck is awesome, but I love to hate on it lol

not really my point. i tried most of those rails except the stupid pole jam shit. its just stuff like that isnt enjoyable. brecks rails just seem far more trickable and they have easy/medium level shit right next to crazyier shit all within a 6 jump line. a lap at breck is far more enjoyable than a lap at key plain and simple.

THIS!! I spent my first season out there this year coming from Connecticut and both blew my dick off! And you can ski them both in the same day because they are 25 mins away from each other. Doesnt get much better than that

this year i skied a park that had like 3 features it was fun

stop complaining you live in summit enjoy it

Breck's parks are longer, but skinnier, so you can hit more features per run. Breck's features are very fun, smooth, and trickable. As far as rails go, the ones at Breck are definetely much easier than the ones at Keystone. I'm not a very good park rider, but I will try any of the rails at Breck, including the ones in Freeway. The jumps at Breck are also great, very smooth, fun, and not too scary to try new tricks on.

Keystone has wider parks that are shorter. You don't hit as many features per run, but both parks probably have a similar number of features in them. The rails at Keystone are much harder than the ones at Breck. I will not even attempt a lot of the rails in Keystone's park because they have some pretty crazy ones. The rails are not as trickable, and on many of the rails, it will be difficult just to clean the entire rail. They have much more creative rails, and many urban style setups. If you are a very high skill rail rider, you will love Keystone. I don't ever really hit their jumps, but they do have decent jumps of all sizes, but I like Brecks jumps better.

Either way, both parks are pretty fun. The resorts are so close to each other that if your in the area for a couple of days, you really should just check out both. You don't even need a car to get from Breck or Frisco to Keystone, you can take a free bus.
