Keystone right now

I heard the jump were supper busted, flat takeoff and flat landings. Anyone know when they might fix that bullshit, or if it's already been fixed?

i didnt like the jumps that much either, i didnt hear about them getting better, so....

breck is filling out the rest of park lane, i guess there are already three more jumps, and one is big enough to get down on.

could be because I only rode through it but on Monday the park looked pretty fucking good for early season. Me thinks the whiners are expecting too much

yeah the jumps are suuuuper mellow right now, the complete opposite of what they were like last year. I haven't heard anything recently about them changing anything, but hopefully they'll find a happy medium soon.

they should probably get their shit together.

i am spending Christmas all up in that bitch, and i want some big fucking jumps.

Ya, the jumps suck compared Breck (it seems like they changed them at the end of last year and built them the same way this year). They are so flat that you need to really haul ass to get over them nicely, and there is no pop since they don't really have a lip. It's still a ton of fun with 5 hits and some rails in between, but you need to wax the skis, haul ass, and be prepared to stand in line if it is still set up so that you have to use the A51 lift and can't go down to Peru.

The take offs are more mellow for sure. The jumps are decent but not great. Honestly Breck's set up is way iller right now. 6 jumps in 1 run, some decent sized jumps and some fun rails and jibs. Keystone's rails are definitely lacking a bit right now.

Also consider how much fun they are when high are in the single digits to teens at best with windchill factors at double digit numbers below zero even at the "warmest" part of the day.
Point being: If you come to CO, layer up real good or the condition of the park wont matter to you because you'll be a popsicle.

Went to keystone today and the jumps are really fun, tons of jibs setup and spread out and you can get more than 2 rail hits in one run. So many kids at breck these days. I like keystone a lot more because the crowds are way less.

Ya'll some little bitches........Keystone is super legit!!!!! Please go to Breck with their shitty inconsistant jumps!!!!! Less douche bags in the park for me to deal with!!!

WOW! i noticed some hostility when i was in summit county, but i didnt know it was like this.

stone and breck fight to have the best park, and everyone goes to whatever is new or better.

Not true at all. Once A51 is in full swing its generally way sicker than Breck which is super windy 75% of the time. I love Keystone and Breck but like the vibe better at Keystone for sure.

i cant stand this breck vs stone shit. who cares. if you dont like keystones jumps dont hit them. stay at breck. i happen to like them. its a good change of pace from breck. you dont hit a brick fuckin wall for a lip, its mellow.

Last year I actually preferred Breck's jumps over Keystone's. I don't like super poppy jumps with quarterpipes for lips. Keystone's jumps are just super chill and mellow right now, nice fun jumps that don't buck the shit out of you....I don't feel like hurting myself this early in the season. I do agree that the landings are a little short and mellow though, like to see them steeper so you can take the jumps deeper without killing speed. Still a fun setup though...haven't been to breck since opening week, I've been having mad fun at keystone lately.

i guess its all personal preference. but imo brecks jumpline blows keystones out of the water. bigger, and better. and you can hit 5 jumps in one run.

blow them out of the water???? not sure bout that.....bigger and better???? not sure bout that either. brecks jumps are WAY smaller and have WAY shorter landings. 5 jumps in one run??? sure....and two rails???? okay.....at keystone you can hit three jumps, a handful of rails, two more jumps, and another set of rails. sounds like keystone is blowing breck out of the water!!!

apparently you lack spacial awareness, cause breck's jumps are quite a bit bigger with the bottom two, the the airtime of the last one in the first 3 is pretty similar to any at key, and landings are similar in size just no where near as flat.

maybe it's you that lack's the spacial awareness....breck's jumps are DEFINITELY not "quite" a bit bigger. the bottom two MAY be a little bigger but not that much. and the landings are DEFINITELY shorter. keystone's may seem a little flatter, but if you were really "aware" of your surroundings, you would see that they're making snow for the big line which tends to drift onto the medium jumps therefore making them feel a little more flat. and as for the airtime....it's because their jumps are like quarter pipe take offs....SUPER POPPY!!!

I was correcting someone that was saying "Breck is always better". Which simply isn't true. No one resort is ever always better than the other. Both Keystone and Breck have insanely sick parks, sometimes Freeway/Park Lane are better, sometimes A51 is better. If you read my original post you will notice that I like both dingus.

OWNED.
Nothing like opinion wars, especially when folks start claiming it like a fact. Hint: if your post contains extreme words like ALWAYS, NEVER...ect. You're either stating an opinion, or factaully you're going to be wrong at least 80% of the time.
In my opinion, Breck is very windy and cold. I don't like being cold when I ski so I like other resorts better. I also have a preference for a longer transition on jump lips. To me, Breck's lips seem very short with a little too much pop. They are still really fun, but not so much if you are nervous about throwing a trick, especially switch.
Factually, there are far more jib feature available at Keystone. Compare the websites.

haha alright it kills me to turn this into anther keystone vs. breck thread BUT on a perfect day, no wind, sun shining and birds chirping. if you want to go jump. breck is always better.

i agree with this. they are on the same pass, why argue which is better? pros and cons for both, but who is gonna hate on either of these parks, they are some of the best in the world. I still remember what the parks were like in my home state, therefore I never bitch about 'mellow takeoffs' or 'short landings.' cmon pple, for realz? these two resorts bust their asses to give us some of the best shit anywhere to chuck yourself off, and I tend to appreciate that.

Hows this? Breck sucks, Keystone kicks ass...breck is windy and icy, those jumps are BIG, and speed is always an issue...they don't have a park lift and they don't have enough rails and boxes however repetitive they are at Keystone..Keystone's got more..and a park lift, and the weather there is perfect....
Everybody should go to Keystone over Breck, seriously, everybody...go there

Breck's jumps are small? short landings? that's news to me...which park you in, Trygvye's?
Go to freeway..and comparably, mid line to mid line, and big line to big line, I agree with whoever you were contradicting and say that Breck blows Keystone out of the water...nothing compares to Freeway, anywhere..
Opinions...

you obviously haven't been to either yet this season......so your opinion doesn't count. read the post: "keystone right now"!

i was under the impression this had turned into a quite general BvK debate... I know what the OP was, i was responding to what i felt the discussion had turned into.? yeah, that

they're not that poppy, just keystone has no pop. last year keystone had even more kickyness to their jumps than any right now. idk about you, but airtime is the main factor in the size of a jump. lets compare since the biggest jump at key right now is about 40 and the biggest at breck is about 50, that in itself is 25% bigger than the keystone one, which is quite a bit, then factor in that you actually get more than 5 feet off the ground and it turns out to be quite a bit bigger with more time to do your trick. maybe you should ski the new jumps before you make the assumption that they're similar in size. and when you hit it, you'll notice that the last two jumps are super smooth, not kicky at all but still boost you. ill agree that the other ones have some wu-tang to the lips, but i and many others dont have a problem with it.

Yeah dude!! Brecks landings are steep and short because the landing matches the lip....Because Breck knows how to build jumps, maybe it's you Thugga, cuz everyone i know agrees they're as good as early season gets...

This may be the first time i ever disagree with duncan (skodeo) on NS, BRECK IS BETTER, ALL THE TIME. There set up right now is $$ and is all year. When Its "windy" you ski park lane and that shits still better than keys big line. THEY ARE BOTH DOPE AND I SKI BOTH, BUT... breck is way sickker

Hope you're not a math major haha.
I get what you're saying, and I also don't care to take sides, but you gotta understand that this is a losing battle because it's all based one people's opinion of what they consider the "best jump". Hell, some people might even like quater pipe lips with short decks and flat landing.. haha
On a different note, Anyone know if either will be planning to build a big STEP-OVER or table style jump. By big I mean 70 ft. plus???? Although obvious, cheese wedge step downs aren't included in my question.

Breck's last jump in Freeway last year was a step up of sorts, at 70 feet...that's kinda their standard last jump, but it's not a complete step up...
Oh, and the one before it is a big cheese-wedgy 75 foot booter, since you were askin.
