^How about the dozens of lies he's told since then, which caused an illegal war that took the lives of thousands of people? Maybe how he appears to be involved in a military occupation which his administration has labelled nation-building. Maybe his inability to separate church from state? Or his thinly-veiled homophobic bigotry? His business relationships, which constotute a conflict of interests, and connect him to one of the most brutal dictatorships in the world as if they were members of the same family? I'm very, very sorry to say there are more reasons. Would kerry be much better? Maybe not... but how could he be worse?

He killed thousands of his own people, soldiers sent in for reasons he KNEW weren't true according to his own agencies. He killed thousands of innocent iraqi civilians by ordering the invasion, and his officials call the unwarranted deaths of their families and the obliteration of their homes 'collateral damage' and 'acceptable losses', losses which don't seem so acceptable to parents who find themselves collecting the limbs of their children, and the children now left homeless and parentless. Just because one man was evil does NOT mean his people all are. The number of people Saddam might kill was noone's priority going into that war, and to use the dead innocents as a justification for an illegal war is an insult to their memory and an injustice to the bereaved, left alone to deal with the consequences of the actions not of Saddam Hussein, but of George W. Bush.

Actually, thousands of americans HAVE died. They just show up as 'wounded'. If someone is 'wounded', it means a medic got to them. They may die immediately afterwards, but they'll still be called 'wounded'. The only KIA people are ones who die before the medic gets there. It's a dirty way to keep statistics so that people think there have been fewer deaths than there really have.

What a horrible argument, for the following reasons. Firstly, as we've said, the iraqi peoples' wellbeing was NOT the reason for the war, and using it as a justification is insulting, cheap and a horrible affront to the dead. Secondly, is Iraq really better off? Take a look. The opposing factions of Islam that were so hostile see America's presence as enough of a crisis to ally, something they never did to get rid of Saddam. Even the common people aren't so sure they're better off; 2 months after the end of the regime, an iraqi woman appeared on nightline and said that she sometimes wishes for the days before american presence. 20 years under a brutal dictator, and 60 days after he's gone, they want Saddam back? Wow, the US must be doing a great job. Saying 'oh, so many more iraqis would have died' is a pathetic justification for a war that was completely illegal.

bush's 'thinly veiled homophobia... whatever you called it' is what will get him re elected... as the majority of americans also 'suffer' from this condition... why is this? well, i have heard stats to the effect that homosexuals die younger, have a higher instance cancers, smoke at a higher rate, and it goes without saying that they have a higher occurance of std's. from what i can glean (granted i am not one who has a great deal of knowledge of the homosexual community) the homosexual lifestyle is one that is completely centered around their sexuality. watch any gay parade and that is appearant. the point being that the homosexual lifestyle is inhearently less healthy than the heterosexual lifestyle, for the most part. obviously there are exceptions on both sides, but common sense in addition to statistical information tell the majority of americans that a 'pro traditional marrige' president is more desireable than the other option. this is just how it is. its not a very progressive idea, and its not socially cutting edge, but its the reality of the situation...
