if there is a magnolia hi fi, or something like that in your area definately go there and listen to the stuff first. there was this kenwood deck when i bought my stuff that had more features than the pioneer one i ended up buying and it sucked. playing through the exact same speakers it sounded really tinny compared to the pioneer. so in short, make sure you listen to the stuff before you buy it, and bring in your own cd too, they always have weird stuff that no one listens to. if you listen to it first you wont be disappointed. also, if you like listening to the radio pioneer has the best radio tuner in their decks, and also i believe they have models that connect directly to your ipod if you have one.

anyway, i hope that helps, but kenwood is normally decent, but definately give it a listen if you can. good luck.

Kenwood decks are good, not great but good. Most common problem I have seen as well as friends is buttons that stop functioning. Their Excelon line of HU's is pretty nice, and definately worth it if you are getting Excelon Amps as well (they integarte with the amps giving more control through the HU). But keep in mind, they are basically like every other company, their lower level stuff will do the job, but the company is really trying to sell the higher end units. If you are not getting Excelon amps, and were considering an Excelon HU, you might want to consider other companies as well in the similar range. Personally, I've found in the lower price ranges Blaupunct, Eclipse, and Clarion have been better, Alpine tends to be more bassie in their lower levels than in their high range HU's. Mid price range I've prefered Eclipse, Pioneer and some Kenwoods. High end HU's Pioneer and Alpine have been tops for a while.

life is too short to have any regrets

I don't know about kenwood...

But I have a Pioneer DEH-7500 cd deck and two Pioneer 420 watt 6x9s and I'm happy because the sound quality is excellent.

Kenwood was my first deck, My car was the offical stereo at parties all throughout highschool so I can vouch for their durability.

We pay our debt sometimes.

i don't know how old you are but, don't get sucked into the whole "i need the sweetest car" thing. Buy only what you need, save you're money for other shit. I spent alot of money on car shit when I was in highschool, my deck got stolen. it sucked. Save your money, I'm tellin ya. buy the cheapest thing you can live with, because in another two weeks you are gona have another expense that's way more important. Besides you're not gona bang more chicks with a better sound system in your car.

My weiner is probably harder than yours.

thanks guys and yeah phrosty I know my money belongs in skiing and filming, i'm just replacing factory speakers and maybe the HU the problem is I work in a shifty area in the summer and last year my HU got jacked by some ass hole they broke the window and ripped my dash apart so i'm kinda afraid to put a deck in it again. but yeah my speakres are just shot and rattle all the time and I spend so much time driving to ski and in between college and home (mmm free food and laundry) that its worth it

I got the cheapest mp3-cd kenwood headunit I could find. Installed it myself. Im very happy with it. I think that kenwood is one of the better companies out there. It was $160, but you can now get it for less at best buy.

I had the Kenwood KFC-W3005, and while it lasted it definitely did pound. Kenwood isn't a leader in quality, but they definitely aren't at the bottom of manufacturers either. If the price is right, go for it, just make sure to make comparisons.(i got the sub cheap, and ran it off a Rockford amp that was far too powerful. The amp was putting double the recommended wattage in to the sub)

Fill your cup up then chug, Roll a joint up and get fucked, Ready for a kitchen party, Welcome to the Maritimes!
