so i borrowed my buddies kendama this week, and now i want to buy one for myself.

Are they all the same?(the ones on kendamausa.com) i think i'd rather spend an extra 5 bucks for quality shit than regret it later.

+K thanks!

as far as models, i dont really know the difference

I love my kendama! I would recommend an oozora (something like that) I have it and love it! My friend has a sunrise one and he says the ball is a little heavier and a little bigger, but you should definitely get one!

I have played with almost all of the cheaper brands. My favorite is by far the basic Oozora another that seems to be a good starter dama is the TK16. Don't cheap out and go with a knockoff brand from like amazon they all suck bad weight, bad paint, falls apart.

My favorite color. ^

TK 16

people say its a great beginner dama but I still use mine and love it. Have and Oozora too

Never really liked the Oozora's personally. TK16's are the shit! I've had 4 or 5 and they're awesome dama's. Or check out Sweet's Kendamas. They have their own style, the cups are a little shallower and stalls are wayy easier. Plus they pump out some fancy custom kendama pretty much every day.

Just ordered a new kendama today actually. I picked the new tribute from kendama usa. I'll let you guys know how it is when i get it. i've owned 2 oozoras before and loved them, but figured i'd try something new.

Nice! I have never had a tribute so I would love to hear some honest responses. My all time favorite kendama is still an oozora.

why are all the kids from the PNW obsessed with Kendama. It is the weirdest regional trend I have ever seen...

Not saying Kendama is weird but the regional trend is.

Yeah, i'll definitly let you know how it holds up. I should get it this week, and yeah there are a lot of PNW kids who play kendama

Alright guys, I got my tribute a few hours ago, and wow it's pretty different from a oozora. I'm not sure what i like better to be honest. I haven't played with it that much but the wood is different and the string and ball even feel diferent. I will tell you guys later how i feel after playing with it more

Yeah Kendamas are straight blowing up in the PNW, maybe because there is a pretty large japanese culture in WA? Idk. But I have inly been Dama'ing for about a month but it's dooe! My Kaleb which was my first is falling apart so I just ordered a yellow Shenhzu which I've heard good things about. Anybody else played Shenzhu's before??

Just got a Shenzhu which is Kendama Co's brand of Ken's and it is solid. There were three weights and I got a mid weight and it seems pretty solid but idk how it differs from the others? But the paint is holding up good and I really like it. Just learned lighthouse flips today!!

Super Glue broo. And to above post, TK16 is a good starter and also Sweets has probably the coolest looking Kens but I haven't played one before so idk how they hold up. Oozora's are solid as well. Basically just find a cool looking one from KendamaCo or KendamaUSA or Sweets amd you should be good.

don't super glue.

take the cups off and put a little strip of electrical tape where the sit, then slide the cups back on. they will grip the tape and won't slip, but can come off if you need to replace the string

Also sweets chip pretty easely, I got there new marbalized and that chipped faaaast. There mattes are really reallly nice though!

Looks like a fun way to pass some time. I saw a guy doing this in a rollerblading video and wondered what it was. Somebody post a vid of someone slaying it.

What is the point of these? My cousin has one that I fiddle around with when I see him, but are there certain things your supposed to do? Or tricks? Is it like a Chinese yoyo?

last video there are a few skiers in it too!

Colin Sanders is a gay but he slays. If you have never played with one the pro's make ot look easy. Also, being a pro kendamaer and being on a pro team is pretty gay.. it's a toy.. I use it to pass the time and lol at people who make edits and shit even though it is fun to watch.

That last one ^^ was pretty dope. At least they made it funny and didn't take it so serious. +k for jiberish Lawlz

Oh i will! I wasn't sure what jumbo i should get, but everyone seems to love the performers and the paint on the uv's are really tacky so i went with it.

Bumping with some new edits.
