Keeping your camcorder steady

Hey,
Kinda as the thread suggests, I have a little trouble getting my camcorder to stay steady when i'm doing follow cam. I have the OIS on, but it doesn't do enough to make real top notch footage. FCP is quite good at removing a lot more jitter but it cuts down the size of the video.
What do you kids do to get real smooth footage that doesn't wobble everywhere? FYI I have a Samsung VP-HMX20c

i don't film that often, and i haven't really done follow cams, but, i would guess that it's pretty much a "practice makes perfect" sort of deal. the more you work on it the better you'll get. sorry if this is a useless post and i'm completely off

One of the best way to get a steady follow cam would be to drop $800 on a Tiffen's Merlin Steadicam, but I highly doubt you would be willing to do that. One thing you could also do is try to make something like it, which is fairly simple. (Just type "DYI Merlin Seadicam" or something like that in a search engine or Youtube.
Next time you purchase a video camera, if you have the money, try a buy one with a handle on the top.
