Katos open

its still pretty tall from what ive been told, so it would have to be buried deep (if there is enough snow left) or cut down.

regardless it would be nice to have it lower so i could learn switch ups with out the risk factor of a high rail.

im from wisco n i was thinking about doin a minnesota trip, i heard kato was good, i was thinking id hit up kato and spirit

new set seems nice, it was slow, cold and icy by the time we got out there so nothin to crazy was thrown. It looks like it should be really fun. the only gripe i have is that in making the effort to set the flat down rail why wouldn't you set the flat down actually flat down instead of downish to down.. doesn't make any sense at all to me. But over all good job mt kato, i think this might be the most legit jump mt kato has ever had, its actually tall. and on a day that isn't slow the speed from the flat down into jump will be just good.

yeah, dbeck and i had good times. new set up was cool. i believe petey got k-feds and disaster to 2 outs on the new kink. it was cold. it was icy. it was fun. got 450 on-270 outs of the blue, fun but retarded-ly fast spinning. overall a fun day.

went to kato again today for a bit. snow was nice and speed wasn't too bad, if you hauled into the flat down and tucked into the jump you could make it half way down the landing if you popped hard and it flowed really nice into the third jump, which was kind of reshaped and was the nicest its been all year i'd have to say. props to dupont and whoever else that got this done.

lips were pretty melted out today.. at 4 o' clock i could hardly make it down the hill. then it got fast at like 5:30 when it started to freeze over. i hate to say it, but our snow is severly dying...

kato was sooo sick today. they leveled the whole skier x course, but left the last table. it's the best table ive ever ridden at kato. i got there right when they opened it, and hiked it for about 3hrs. fitz and i also dug out a sketchy hip on the left side of it, thats pretty fun to throw little stuff off.

during the little daffy comp, on pete's first hit he took a 5 mute all the way to the flats, had to have been about 8+ feet above the knuckle on that little thing, i almost shit my pants. it seems like a very solid jump

yeah it was a really nice jump except for the lip hit you soo fast. like there wasn't any flat transition from the slope of the hill to the lip. but then it again it wasn't intended to be a park jump.

Dear mt. kato,

you are closed now... i will miss you dearly.

ps

you guys really stepped it up at the end of year and it made for a quite fun park. Hopefully we can start off at that level next year. Dupont did a great job considering the conditions and lack of snow he was given to work with. He really started to take the park in the right direction and i think he'll continue to do so when given more resources to work with. I was skeptical of what was gonna happen this year, but in the end Dupont did a good job and is definitley going in the right direction.

oops. I just typed it out quickly not thinking. I'm not really sure what i want to major in, just liked the school a lot more than my previous one.
