Kastle zx100?

Any thoughts on a 2nd ski choice to bump into a wider ski and progress with all mountain, trees, bumps. Powder? Any input on this ski?

Tell us a little bit about how you ski, where you ski, your goals for this ski. This is not a ski that appeals to too many on this site so probably not a lot of first hand experience.

I ski in Colorado, Winter park/mary Jane. I am newer to skiing but not the mountains. Was an expert boarding from trees, to steeps to backcountry. Looking to work my way there skiing. Older at 51, my buddies call me the turtle, not in hurry to get to the bottom but rather enjoy the ride. Looking for a ski to get me from a 92 waiste rustler 172 to the next level. This ski seems logical in specs and great deals, but not looking to skimp. Currently comfortable on most of groomed front side. Thanks

What drew you to the Kastles?

I'd like at:

K2 Mindbender 106C

Volkl Blaze 106

Nordica enforcer 104 Free

Elan Ripstick 106

All of those are relatively accessible versatile skis in the mid-fat widths. They all have fairly short turn radii and none will break the bank if you don't get along with them.

Do you have any opportunities to get to a demo day this spring?

I am looking for demo days here for sure. The blaze are on the radar as well. The Kastle were on sale sub 400, so did some research and looked good, but certainly open to others.

My only concern about that Kastle model in my briefest Google search is that it's geared toward beginners and it might be quickly limiting even if appropriate immediately. The skis I listed should give you a lot of headroom for advancement with being intimidating from the outset.

Those are all sub-$400 or close on corbetts.com right now. Pair with a set of Salomon Strive 12s (how big are you?) for a $500 clean set up that will last.

5’9” 185, I have attack gw 14 at 6 on current set up.

Likely going ripstick or blaze, any recommendations on size for these ? Currently on a 172 , 5’9” 185lb
 
I found the ZX100 to be pretty easy going and more forgiving than the other Kastles I've skied. Easy enough to break loose but still likes being on edge. Good on groomers but still has decent enough float in soft snow. It's a good all around ski.

Found a great deal on ranger 102 with shift bindings. Mixed reviews on how agreeable this ski is, anyone have some time on it ?
