Kartel 108 186 v.s 191

NS, serious issue at hand. I am not sure if I want to nut up and shred 191 Kartels or 186. I'm 6'3 180 lbs and a pretty experienced skier. I currently live in the midwest but don't plan on staying long after college, I will most likely move to Utah in search of jobs. So shredding midwest ice for now but powder in 2 years, that also plays a role in the size of skis. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

P.S heres some mod eye candy.

where do you plan on mounting them? if closer to center, go longer; if more traditional, go shorter

just to give you an idea, i'm 5'9/10ish and i rock a 181 park ski and 186 for my pow skis... customs are 2 back and my OG jeffery 110s are dead center.

There's trade off to longer vs shorter, but honestly it's 5cm it's not going to be life changing. If it were me I'd go 191 and mount forward to mitigate the extra length if you're worried about it. It will probably be a bit of adjustment to upsize a ski but I think it forces you to be a better skier. And then when you go back to short skis it's like taking your ankle weights off.

You would mount at recommended?

I don't want to tell you what to do specifically because I haven't skied the kartel before, but just saying that's one way to make a longer ski handle shorter

if youre gonna be in the midwest for the next 2 years, get the short ones and not worry. Youll want/need new skis in 2 years of hard midwest skiing anyway.

Do this. 186 recommended mounting if in midwest

I'm 6'2 180 and didn't even hesitate buying the 191's. I've been riding 186's for several years though so it won't be a big transition.
