does NS really care about karma? i dont really understand why people are always saying +K. its pointless, your not really gaining anything from it, just a number.

so my question is, do you really care what your karma number is?

i know i dont...
 
idk there are some people who have mad high karma who i think are just idiots and dont respect yet there are people who will have very low karma who make some very good points and have nice posts.
so no i dont think karma reflects a person
 
well it seems like it show people are respected, but then again its just because of who they are. for me it doesn't effect me because lets say you make a bad post or something or say something that someone gets offended by their gonna lower your karma, or some little 12 year old is like "HEY YOUR A DOUCHE BAG" lemme lower your karma. its only a number, we shouldn't be affected by it :)
 
dude i totaally agreee with youit a numberand when you make a post someone doesnt agree withthey call you a noob because they have more karma but it doesnt matter some people think NS is life
 
Funny how people with high karma make this thread. most of the people with high karma just suck other members dicks to get +K. like the thread creator
 
i don't care about it but i agree with malcolm, it's always fun to see it go up but i'm not gonna go kill myself because someone on the internet rated my e-karma low

It's funny to see the +++kkkk posts and shit, it's bad for the site though, cause it just encourages people to post when they clearly have no idea what they are talking about. I think anyone posting shit like "+++++kkk for helping me" should be immediately banned for 3 or 4 days.
 
Means nothing to me. If the system was ever fixed to clearly reflect who the good members on the site were then I might start caring about it more.
 
I like to tell people that it means nothing to me but in reality, I can't live without it, I have to check it all of the time and worry so much why people don't like me.
 
i deff dont think karma reflects who a person is. like ya its fun to see it go up and all, but mine always seems to be going down prob b/c of what i post. but i have a right to my own opinion just like you all do too and im a nice person but apparently people on ns just dont like my opinions. ha oh well.. and yah that is funny that somone with relitivly high karma made this thread......hmmm
 
honestly. why do we say "+k" in threads? does your karma really mean that much to you? and it doesnt really seem like more experienced users(most of them at least) dont do this... so is it just me or do the newer people do this alot more?

and i still dont understand the whole karma situation
 
+k just takes up space. it doesnt matter in the slightest. now if confetti would rain down on me when i hit a certain karma number then i might care. but it doesn't, so i don't
 
I could care less about it, I must agree with Malcolm though. I wonder sometimes, is karma a useful system or is it just pointless?
 
it takes up alot of space, and gets very annoying. if you could get certain priveleages or something here on NS if you had really high karma, then yea i would care about it but as of now and even if you end up getting certain prveleages, "+k+ needs to stop.
