Did anyone else notice that the K2 sponsored skiers at this years X-games weren't using poachers, in fact, the skis they were using weren't even on the K2 website. Does anybody have any idea what that's about?

Lol they were using next years poachers it happens almost every year at xgames, athletes usually ride next years skis to start kinda building that image for the next season

Conspiracy theory: K2 skis suck so their athletes get other brand skis and paint them to look like K2. Similar to how Red Bull sucks so the Red Bull athletes have special Red Bull cans that are full of water so they can be seen seemingly slamming Red Bull all the time.

Oh now I feel dumb but that makes a lot of sense, but it's kind of annoying since I can't get any specifics about them.

According to one of their designers nothing has changed but graphics same ski just new graphic and base color

Is this true?

Not true of k2 no, not that I'm aware of. In certain other sports this happens every now and then, and in skiing there are def cases where a sponsored rider gets a specialized version (e.g. Salomon giving Dumont and others wood core versions of their skis back in the day when the normal line had foam cores) or rides the same-brand ski they like but it's printed with a different model's top sheet to advertise that other ski from the same brand. Personally not aware of any instances of this with k2 and tho it's possible, k2 makes good skis that seem to be genuinely well liked by people

the thing about energy drinks does happen, tho it's not quite as simple as "the energy drink sucks," it's more just that if a dude is suggested or required to guzzle from a monster can on camera all the time, they make it easier/healthier for them sometimes by giving them monster cans filled with water so they can slam it all they need and it's just water
