K2 Skis Delaminate

It's because they use a full edge wrap rather then a semi wrap. With a full wrap it more likly for a delam to occur due to there being no give in the edge so the rivets are added to help prevent it. But the upside is a full wrap is less likely to break and cause a tip or tail edge pull out.
 
Historically speaking. ....yes they used to. Ive been buying k2s since 1988. And about every pair I had, which was alot, ended up with duck tape or epoxy on the tips because of delamination. And at the end of every season, everyone would send their K2s back under warranty. So K2 was sendind out tons of free skis every year.BUT, the first Public Enemy had the rivets in the tip and tails, which was about 2002 or 03 I think, and those virtually eliminated k2's delamination problem. I've continued to buy k2 about every year since and have not seen anymore delamination.
 
The bolts on the fatter skis are for skins to connect right? You just have to buy a certain kind.

most of the time yes, the park skis just have the rivets, and most of the wider skis have a little plug that you can twist with a quarter.
 
Yep. It's no co-incidence that they started riveting them the year after the original Enemy which was notorious for delam.
