K2 Shreditor 2015 - BASE MATERIAL

I'm interested in the Shreditor 102 (2015 model only because of the 191 length) and I am wondering if it will have a sintered base or extruded?

I've had a pair of Domains for a few years and they are - despite lots of waxing - unbelievably slow! (anyone else have this problem with their Domains?)

If the Shreditors are sintered, does anyone happen to know what density they are too?, i.e. 2000/ 4000

By the way I have already searched this, and messaged NS member schmies but not heard back from him yet.

Thanks NS.

bump - i have k2 skis for my all mtn setup, i wax them a ton, and after the first 3 runs they are super slow

thanks ski_da_pow, which K2's do you have specifically? Because apparently some K2 models have quicker bases, some have slower ones. For example, the 50th anniversary Recoils are supposed to have faste (probably sintered) bases.

I'm trying to work out which type Shrediotr 102s (2015) might be.

cheers

well i have some ghetto "all mountain" skis that are called AMP stryker from 1 or 2 years ago. i use them as my rock ski, which i use 80% of the time haha. the bases on mine seem like plastic. they dont absorb much wax and are not very quick . good luck man

Domains, Press and Sights all use extruded bases.

The Shreditor series all use sintered. I don't know what grade of sintered it is but the bases on my Recoils (also sintered) seemed exceptionally fast.

Pretty sure they are sintered. Base structure is just as important as waxing when it comes to getting speed. So if you ski regularly you want to get a base structure put in more often. If you only wax eventually the bases wont absorb the wax
