K2 seths volkl gotoma or salomon guns

you sure you dont want a good fat ski that is also skinny?

i would say seths though. because i like them.

some guy has a thread for some brand new 189 seths with look px12's for sale just a couple threads down..

seths are way sick, and not too fat. i just got mine, and i cant wait to ride em. ive demoed some, and they are aesome. cant wait to ride them. and yea, someone is selling some with bindings for like 600 which is a steal. hit him up

seths are awesome! I have the older ones, but the new ones look super dope with the mini rocker in them.

How is everyone making recommendations to this kid without know ANYTHING?!

Height, weight, ability, ect. would be nice

Demoed last years seths and hated them maybe becuase they were actually tuned...i hate tuned skis...oh yea they weighed several pomds more than my STL's it seemed

5'7" 145 pounds expert mostly big mountain/pow but enugh park to justivy not getting hellbents

Alright. Big giant threadpost coming through.

New K2 Seths are the best all mountain because they have the mini rocker 3 piece camber in them, which makes them INSANE in the pow, and just as INSANE on hardpack.

New Gotamas are the same as last year, exept for some cosmetics. Pretty much the same ski. Still awesome, but much more of a BC booter ski than say.. the seth, which is better at charging fast in pow and crud.

the Guns are a little more stable than the Gotamas in the crud and hardpack, because they have isoflex plates that line the edges in the tip and tail, allowing for damper, more fine carves, but they are narrower as well, and not as good in the pow.

thats my 0.02$

guns

you can go pretty much everywhere with them

i had fun with them in knee-deep pow last season

and also fooling around in park

and they carve like wow

hmmmmn, not sure about that dude.

179 seths would be kinda perfect for a sort of 40% pow, 30% hardpack, 30% park ratio.

183 gotamas (they ski much shorter) would be better for more pow, less hardpack/park.

I pretty much disagree with everything you just said. The Gotamas will definitely be the best charging/all mountain ski of the three for sure--always have been and probably always will be. I think the rocker on the Seths will make them slightly less versatile than the Gotamas, but they'd probably still be good for a little bit of everything. The Guns would make a fun BC jib/park ski or all mountain ski for lighter guys or someone who likes softer skis. They're three totally different skis, so it shouldn't be hard to narrow down what you want.
