K2 poacher different base colors?

I noticed that some 2023 poachers have a black or white base anyone know why the base sheet alternates colors?

all the different colors are cut outs. So they take the area they cut out from one color and put it in the other.

K2 been doing this since I started skiing and it pisses me off because one year I got 2 different coloured bases and it looked shitty

The k2 reckoner 102 also got two different base colors both black and orange but one more orange and one more black

pretty sure they are not supposed to be sold that way haha.

I had two pairs of the yellow and pink line invaders, one pair had pink bases and the other yellow and I would always mix them up as they would wear out. Come to think of it I think the two pairs of shredditors I have are opposite as well.

Its called swap base, its a way to be more sustainable by eliminating waste from die cutting.

They will always be paired up the same from the factory but I have seen them get messed up in shops as the top sheets are the same so if all skis are unwrapped they can get messed up. Just check the bases match when you buy them if you care.
