K2 pettitor or line opus?

the pettitor is basically a mini hellbent excepf for the fact that the pettitor has some early taper where the hellbent does not. the opus is super playful and soft. there is no difference between the 2012 and the 2013 opus. just the graphic. if you want to charge and throw tricks in the pow get the pettitor, if you want to glide and butter around get the opus. both awesome. cant go wrong either way.

Flexed a pair yesterday, definitely stiffer than the hellbents but not as stiff as I'd expected. The rocker looks cool too although I find it hard to picture how the ski will ride in anything but powder with the rise starting so early. Would definitely like to hear from someone who has played around on a pair.

It is actually nothing like a hellbent.

I hated the ski personally. It has the most bizarre under foot camber, I have the hellbent.. and can honestly say would never swap them out for the petitor.

Out of the petitor and opus I'd say go for the opus.

Both skis are sick and very versatile.

You can have fun on the Opus no matter what the conditions are. The opus is a ski you would like better than the Pettitor in heavy crud, spring slush, and hard pack snow. Ski is a beast!

The Pettitor is going to feel quite a bit damper, not as damp as the current year or 10/11 ObSethed. Pettitor will get bounced around a bit more in the crud, slush, and won't grip as well on the hardpack as the Opus. If you're a lighter weight guy and want something that is really agile in the tighter trees, bumps, chutes etc... Petittor would be a better option because it's softer and lighter.

Pettitor is for what sean pettit does. if you dont know who he is, shame on you, and you should look up a vid. Opus if for what pollard does. its really personal preference and depends on what you're skiing. personally i would go with pettitor but that's because i'm more of a fan of cliffs and big mountain. if you ski loads of pow every day of the season you should look into the opus or a hellbent or something similar. go shred

Sounds like you got that backwards...the Pettitor is the heavier and stiffer ski which would be better for heavy crud and slush. The Opus is softer and lighter and will therefore get bounced around more in chopped up stuff...

for you i'd go w. the opus

Haven't had a chance to get on the petitor but I've had the opus two seasons now and it's the best ski I've ever owned. It seriously rips anything from pow to groomers to even park. As far as it getting bounced around in the crud I have yet to experience that. I've sent em charging through heavily skied out trees no problem. I've had a few instances while charging where I launched off of a bump I hadn't intended to but that's common with a rockered ski that wide. I'd say opus based purely on how good it's been to me. Just be aware that it'll give ya false confidence and have ya goin twice the speed ya should be down some crazy line. Haha
