Hey guys,

I'm in a pickle with skis, because I'm in Japan for three more weeks before I return back to Australia.

Currently my only pair of skis are centre mounted line chronics.

I tried both skis as demos and the jj's are far better as a pow ski but the marksman is more versatile and I can take it in the park for a few laps.

The jj is perfect for Japan and I can use my chronics for shitty days but back in Australia we rarely get deep pow days.

Which ski do u reckon is best?

I love the Marksman on groomers and in the park. Super fun and agile. Super flexy skis. But I don't like them at all in powder, mainly because of the really slim tapered tips and tails. I find them really hard to maneuver compared to my other more dedicated powder skis (Faction CT 3.0 and Rossignol Blackops).

I skied the ARV116 for a day in powder/ in December and had a blast. I thought they were really fun. But I can't tell you how they would do in slush/hard pack.

Get both?

This, sounds like you're looking at a shop over there and are looking to get some skis that actually work in powder asap. Catamaran would be my choice from either company guessing that the shop carries both K2 and Armada. If you're deterred by the wider waist, dont be. People get this idea in their heads that any ski over 120mm in the waist is too fat to do anything but ski in over a foot of powder when in reality, it doesn't matter all that much.

Also, why the actual FUCK are you in JAPAN with just center mounted chronics? Dude...really... that hurts alot of people right in the feels...
 
I do really like k2 and what they put out and all that. I would go for the Armadas because I just got k2 sights as a fun ski and a park ski and I’ve ridden it 4 times and it has noticeable dings chips and wear and tear I wudnt expect to see after 4 days of use.
