K2 Hellbents

Core center. That's where I have mine. It's a good spot if you plan on doing some switch pow riding. That's also where Pep and Andy have their Hellbents at. I would never go past -2 from core center and that's pushing it.

just read in a thread two seconds ago that you recomnded these skis to a guy and you have yet to even ride them

I've skied them i just don't own them. and when i skied them i didn't see where they were mounted and i'm planing on getting a pair.

im looking to get a pair of these next year but not quite sure what size. im 5'6 155-160lbs and an advanced skier. ill be using them for skiing powder at the resorts and a few backcountry trips.

Yep, unless you are skiing a ton of deep pow and want a ski that rides switch really well in pow. I'm pretty sure the JJ is rockered in the tail, so it can ride switch in pow too. JJ is stiffer, Hellbents are softer and more BC jib oriented. I love my Hellbents though, such a lovely pow ski.

If you want to charge, get a charging ski, like ObSETHed. That's a dumbass purchase. That's like buying a Hellbent and then an EP Pro. Buy Hellbents and a park ski. I have Hellbents and Invaders, it's a beautiful 2 ski quiver. If you want a charging ski buy a park ski, Hellbent, and then ObSETHed. How many skis do you have. I thought you had a one of a kind custom rockered Volkl Gotama (some sort of Volkl ski)?

how do they float at core center, does it affect much, i feel like the floatation would be better at a farther back mount

Mine are mounted at core center and there's absolutely no problem with buoyancy in pow. I tired a pair at +3 and they skied so much worse than mine. I would go core or 1cm back if you're really worried about it.

Not really...the JJ's smash chop and sunbaked shit where the bents get deflected pretty hard. Plus the JJ's ski groomed WAYYYY better than the bents.

then why would u want bents haha? it seems like jj's are not quite as good in pow but slay chop and groomed way better? correct me if im wrong

yea, the further you go forward, the less flat you have in the tail, and that seriously sucks. ruins the surprisingly good hardpack skiability. they are amazing skis centermounted. they dont get AS much float as if they were a lil back, but with that much rocker they pop up instantly anyway, and they never submarine or anything. and yes, if you are looking to charge, get the obsethed, it is a WAY, WAY better ski for shredding. bents hold their own for sure, but they ride like a good park ski, not something youd wanna be maching down chutes or anything. seths on the other hand are amazing, and still pretty capable in the jib dept. regardless, bents are still one of my all time fav skis.

my bad, I read it wrong, I was thinking would JJ's be an overlap if he already had bents. But they are two different skis all together, bents being floaty soft and playful, jj's being a better charging ski, wayyyyyy more stable at speed.
