im a very strong and athletic skiier, 5'11'' and 168lbs, looking to start park this season. my choices are K2 EXT in 169 or 179 or K2 disorderlys in 179? What are the difference in the two skis, where im getting them they are the same price, so what is the better ski?will 179 be too long for a part specific ski? will center mount with either rossi freeski 110s, sth 12s or , most likely, griffins. thanks for the help.

depends. if you want a softer symmetrical park ski id say go for disorderly.if u want it more all mountainish, then go ext. oh and 179 is prefect for a park ski imo. but many people here like them a little shorter.you have to consider that they will be a bit longer (around 183-4) since k2 measures their skis short.go for 179 disorderlys.peace

bump

a little more info please, are the disorderlys more of a park specific softer ski and the exts are more of a stiffer all mountain twin? maybe someone whose skied both could compare them? that might be hard because they are kinda entry level skis not something you would demo.

the ext isnt an entry level ski, it's a pricepoint ski and is the same ski as the original public enemy. where are you skiing? how much time are you spending in the park vs. skiing everything else? do you have another pair of wider skis? if you're on the east coast, there's no reason you couldnt ski the disorderly for everything, i did when i was riding locally last year. they softened them up a little this year so they should be nicer for park riding than last years, which i found to be somewhat stiff til they broke in. the EXT will ski better all mountain, but won't ski quite as well in the park due to the mounting point/sidecut of it. also, what's the price you're getting on these? EXT should be around 379 and disorderly should be around 429. basically get the disorderly's unless you're really not going to be riding park that much, or for some reason don't like a true twin.

I have disorderlys in 159 which actually measure out to 164 or something. They soft, symmetrical twins for the park. I'm on the east coast and use these as my only ski, and honestly, having a symmetrical ski doesn't really hurt you all mountain, if you a good skier you can ski mostly anything anywhere. They don't have a lot of sidecut at 109-85-109, but that's not really a problem, in fact like it. The edges hold up great, and so do the bases. The topsheet is easily chipped but thats nothing. Overall I like them, I don't know how to compare them to EXT's, but I'm sure they're softer. I think EXT's are silencers with sidewall construction instead of cap. If you want a stiffer park ski, check out last years extremes if you want to go K2, or Line Chronics. Volkl walls would be good too, they're stiff, symmetrical park skis.

i can get them for about 220 after taxes and shiping, the disorderlys only are in stock in a 179, but the exts are in all the lengths. im based out of ottawa, skiing small places, like camp fortune , mt cascade, and edlewise, might take a march breka trip up to jay. i have salomon tornados for allmountain skiing, got them two seasons ago before i was into park, still a great ski for glades and carving, will use that for my high preformance skiing and then the twins for skiing park and maybe a couple runs just messing aroung on groomers.

169 lighter swing weight, less stability on landings

179 alil more swing weight , more stability on landings.

at your size i would go 179 for a soft ski like that.
