Just wondering who else on here street races

Back when I was in the Navy I had a red 1987 Chevy Camaro IROC-Z with the 350. I got it for cheap from this old guy who had stage 2-ed the transmission, posi-ed the rearend + gears, chipped the hell out of it (so much so that he had removed the thermostat, K&N intake, aftermarket throttlebody, headers + exhaust, B&M rachet shifter.

The thing was so bitchin' that it even had those black louver things in the rearr window and the best of 80s Hairbands CD stuck in the vintage (aftermarket) Sony CD player.

So you might say that I developed a street racing habit. The highways weren't the greatest because the top end was a little lacking... but light to light it was murda!

I got rid of it for 2 reasons:

1. Zero capabilities in snow. Don't write how I could have made it work, cause the bitch would hydroplane with rain tires ( to make mattters worse I was in Seattle)

2. I only drove it drunk once. I was pissed off and gave it a tiny bit more throttle than normal around a corner and ended up drifting across 4 lanes. Epic drift @ 2 in the morning, didn't get busted, but that was the last time I had anything to drink and drove the red dragon.

Now I have a 1997 Grand Cherokee, and a street bike.

The bike was 1/6 the price of the Camaro, but would definately smoke it, while getting 30 mpg. Not to mention how much more fun it is railing around on a bike vs. in a car.

God, back when my life had no meaning, no direction I used to street race this bad boy, girls included.

Thank goodness I got my life back on track.

i used to go to the races in hartford with my buddy and it was a good time, i never had a car of my own in high school so i didnt race but my buddy had a nice turbo talon with a lot of shit done to it that was fast as hell, hartford was funny though cause there would be a shitload of people all lined up just like the fast and the furious type shit then the cops would come and everyone would bounce and find a new spot, but it would happen like that all night long, it was fun as hell though cause i would just smoke blunts and sit shotty while this kid would race people and drive like a fucking maniac to get away from the police

i have a 95 BMW M3. I compleatly rebuilt the engin myself and supercharged it. also put bigger injectors, new fly wheel and tranny. its pushing 400 hp at the wheels.

hahahahahhaha! me and my neighbor used to have those when we were little and we would race down this hill by my house. but my racing days ended when i tried to jump it over a creek but ended up in the water... RIP barbie jeep.

i dont race. i think most people think i do because i get revved at all the fuckin time. but i dont waste my time. i like my car too much to lose it due to racing

i used to rock a mid 90's mercedes e400. My dad had the v8 upgrade and that thing would haul. haha the exhaust started to rust so there was a giant hole and it sounded like a boat. You were able to hear it like a mile away.
Now i drive a 03 wrx bugey pushing about 300 to the wheels. When i first got it i drove it to shit, but now i learned its really not worth it. I'll occasionally WOT but not much anymore because that thing isn't really ment to be drivin like that.
Hopefully down the road i'll upgrade to an sti engine and upgrade the tranny so i can beat it to shit

RACE AT THE TRACK NOT THE STREET............. not be bitchen but people who street race give us drag racers who race on the street a bad name.... any ways i race on the track a 99 dodge ram 2500. its down to 9.5s on the 1/4 mile now

i wouldnt say i street race, but the occasional highway pull isnt out of hand haha
i drive a 2000 saab 9-3 turbooooooooo its kinda quick. it might have the worst torque steer ever but from 3rd and up its fast as a mofucka. it stock still though

No offense to anyone here who does street race, but I think doing that is just retarded. You put yourselves and other drivers at huge risks. I am all for going fast but keep it on the track. Go do some Auto X tracks.

i mean the track....................................... but like the other guys said you put others at risk that may not want to be

i have only gone street racing a few times

its all in good fun

i just have a mazda tribute so its good with 200hp 4 wheel drive and my friend has a large chevy and we race all the time

its so much fun

but you dont wanna get out of hand

thats just a bad idea

Same thing except with offense. If you want to race, do it on a track. If you're on street then I hope to God that when you wreck you're the only one who dies, and not some single mom.

to clarify i dont go around loking for races, but if some ricer is revving at me on the gighway ill downshift and show him my ass hhaha

i think i know you... nick? hahah

my integra was a beast auto x car and it was fun to show up some ppl who tried to keep up on the twisties around here. but i sold that and bought myself a jeep, lifting it and making it a trail rig.

i bought a 07 R6 though and its my new favorite toy. this summer im investing in a stunt bike.

racing on the street is stupid, esp bragging about it... doing a short pull against somebody every now and then is fun, but going out looking for a race is straight up ignorance at its best. go to the track where people go to race

oooo lets see how fast we can go in a straight line.... i wouldnt rag on it unless you've driven a car with real handling on an auto x course, or an actual circuit, its quite fun.

your runnin a 9.5 and not givin any stats on your truck? dood, im callin bs. lets see this truck. wat have you done to it?

as for myself, i dont streetrace, but i do go to the track. i have a '53 chevy pickup, rodded, 10 bolt rear, 3:73's, shoulda gone 4:11's. th350. 350 bored .30 over. this motor has seen its day though, my pops and i have 2 blocks sittin in the basement, one cemented up and ready for drag racin only, and the other is out of a forklift. yea, a forklift, cuz GM made industrial motors and the blocks were alot stronger and built to take more abuse. still a 350 though. this summer, i want to build that up, i wanna stroke it, or put a blower on it. or both.

street racing is retarded. I hate it when people put other people's lives in danger to prove they have a nice car. Go play need for speed to prove your driving skills

at night time we go to the sand horse track in town and race around that...haha they have to fix that thing so much cause of us its crazy

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, kris your so full of shit, he drives a shitty dodge caliber that my mazda 3 could even beat. you lying fuck

My buddy just had his 650 WHP Sti stolen the other night...and it wasn't insured...f*cking sucks.

And threadmaker, what is your definition of "street races". An organized event with stakes, or pulling up to the young driver at the light, where the only thing louder than his ego is his omega-tron stereo?

I'll do the occassional pull with my buddy, but nothing rediculous/dangerous. My record is clean and I'd rather keep it that way.

And I drive a 2003 Civic SI, which will be going for a K20 turbo with E-manage...once my present engine sells.

so let me get this straight... half of you are getting upgraded engines, and turbos and shiit, and you dont race? that makes sense...

Every girl in this thread must marry me.

I used to have some ricer buddies and I would go out and cannonball run with them, nowadays its mostly just random people at streetlights now and again.

I'm poor because of skiing but after the season I'll probs chip my car, intake/exhaust, and some strut bars and that'll put it at like 260hp which i'm fine with.

no racin in my car cuz its a 03' nissan xterra but i will do alittle on the streets with my bike. but nothin beats track days ridin super moto.

Strongly agree, not worth it at all, especially when tracks are cheap (20 bucks to run a night here)

FYI i drive:

91 Silvia, full intake, exhaust, new turbo, injectors, fuel pump etc etc etc port polished etc etc

about 325 WHP right now...others have seen it if you question my claim there
