Okay, I have the 1080 boots (flex 75) and the Rossignol Race boots (flex 120/110). I was wondering if I could sell both my boots and just get one pair of Rossignol Freeride XX boots (flex 80/90) and if they would work for both racing and park? (on a side note my 1080s don't reall fit that good so thats why I want to get rid of them.)

ANY SUGGESTIONS FELLAS???

yeah, well the main point I was trying to get across was if the Rossi Freeride XX boot would work for racing????

maybe, i use to race with some crapy rossie boots, i think those will be fine

I raced and jumped in some stiff Tecnica racing boots last year, and they worked out great for both.

yea, i raced a nd jumped in my icon X's... i think the best way is to find a decent racing boot and get the lowest end of that line, like the icon X. then crank it up in stiffness for races and crank it down for jumping. but i think im getting some flexons or 1080s this year so i dunno

yeah i had icon X's at the beginning of the season last year, i didn't like the boot in the first place but it worked well for both, kinda.

i jumped up until this year in my Lange l10 stock boots...and i didn't really have a problem with them.

Sure, landings could be a little rough cuz they are super fucking stiff but i am sure you can manage.

I did some racing on 1080 pros this year and they were good, although if ur going to do some FIS level racing get race boots! if ur racing competively but liek the adult leagues or team leagues get 1080 pros. remember though that the 1080 pro is narrower than the 1080.

get the 1080 pro! if its a little too small get the boot punched. its a great boot, padded for sketchy landings, and stiff enuf to race with.

just remember the stiffer the boot and tighter the fit, the more direct your actions will affect the ski. Honestly, I think most people would be fine doing both, racing and freeskiing, with a boot in the 80-100 range.

i like the icon X, not full bred race boot and it has pretty wide range of adjustments,i useds to ski technica x-9 cause im fat and poor, but they worked out pretty good, could adjust forward lean quick and slid a couple pieces of plastic in and its pretty stiff

as said before, get the salomon Pro model, its a racing boot, with a flex of 95 instead of 120 or 130...so just get that one..same shell, same liner..

Well, I used to be a very competitive racer. I actually use the rossi race boot for park. I personally love the stiff boot. How hard do you race?

just highschool level racing, nothing too serious, but its still a sport that I do take seriously.

People should remember that flex indexes are not comparable between different companies.

Salomon's 95 flex is not the same as Rossi's 95 flex.

I'm just saying...

my feet are huge and weird shaped....so i got atomic freeride boots, they are wicked comfy, so much more comfortable than race boots

try on all the boots u can and make sure to get the shop to fit them for u. sometimes a tight fitting boot is betted cause u can get it punched out easily to match ur foot. its easier to get one punched out and formed in.

I race with my school too, But I go down with my twin tips and 1080 boots wearinga puffy jacket. It looks damn funny. DO you wear the racing suit? Thats gotta be cold.

Listen to Deltron 3030

racing suits are warmish. its like a ski suit the moe u wear under the warmer it is. besides the warmth factor is all hands feet and head which is where u lose all ur heat anyway.

you would be able to race GS with twins, but not really Slalom, the turns are too sharp.

I got nothin.

it would prolly work if your just racing hishschool but race boots are better for racing because they are stiffer and give you more control because they are smaller and are fit a lot smaller hope it helps if not i should die

Montana fucking rocks and anyone that call montanans rednecks should die

im out

love and peace

no need to non-twins for high school racing unless u go to state champs or ofsaa or something like that. sharp edges is all u need. if your are racing both GS and slalom get the volkl 7-24 AX3 or the atomic 916sl.

Hope that helps
