Just nollied a big knuckle and caught tips. Sent it to flats right on my shoulder and also snapped my blends.

I was still able to move my arm decent right after but shoulder right after but is pretty petruded, I’m skinny tho so idk how bad it is. It’s gotten soar now but does hurt bad. Ski patrol looked and said it looks like a separate

Accidentally posted, anyhow said it’s probably a separated shoulder. I’m going to a doctor tomorrow probably. Not much pain. Anyone have any experience? Surgery recommended?

Go to the doctor bro. They'll give you a sling if its separated and tell you whats up. Wear that shit and you'll be back real soon. I had a grade 2 separation in HS and stopped wearing it after one day cause it was annoying and now one shoulder sits an inch below the other. Backpacks don't ever fit right lol.

Bro no one here really knows what happened to your shoulder. Ask the doctor lmao

I used to do a lot of nollies until one time I caught the tip of one of my JJs. It was only one so it made me do a 180 and I saved it but I was going pretty fast, would have been rough if both tips caught.

I swear I’m not going to do them over big rollers anymore, I caught my tips and was flying super man style down to the flats. Tucked and tried to roll forward in air but unfortunately just slammed shoulder.

Ended up being a separated shoulder aka separated ac, got an X-ray. Shouldn’t need surgery from what I read online but gonna be out for a bit and see a specialist.

by no means was expecting Newschoolers to diagnose me, was just wondering about what people knew about separated shoulders or what their own experience was.

I mean did they diagnose it with a grade? AC separations are graded 1 through 5 typically. Grade 1 or 2, no surgery. Grade 3, maybe, maybe not. Grades 4 or 5 likely need surgery. I had a grade 3 and no surgery. They prescribed some pt, but basically you just rest it and see how it goes.

I’m going to a specialist, urgent care looked at X-rays and felt around and I had little pain and decent motion. Lady there said most likely grade three.

did you have a full recovery?

I was diagnosed with a "grade 3" but that just means they evaluate you and then slap a number on. I think mine probably is closer to a 4. Mine was a couple years ago, and my shoulder is not fully stable and will not be without the surgery, and there is a significant protrusion. I can get by fine though - I do all my normal shit, but it bothers me. I think I may get the surgery in the next year or so, because there is just a little too much movement in the joint and I hate the way it looks. From what you have described, it sounds like you have a grade 3 at the most and maybe a grade 2. But this is bro science. Also, urgent care doesn't know shit about this stuff.

There is no harm in rehabbing without the surgery and seeing where that goes and if you're satisfied with how it turns out. Putting off the surgery makes no difference as far as long term outcome goes. See what the specialist says, but I would'nt freak about your shoulder/surgery. It sounds manageable.

I had a partial dislocation last year from wrestling, followed my pt and recovered fully

A dislocation is totally different from an AC separation.

I have a grade 3 separated left shoulder myself, took a digger up on Hood last summer. Went to a specialist just to see how bad it was. Not bad enough for surgery but it did hurt. Wore a sling for a week, I just rehabbed with some resistance bands from previous injuries, took a good 3 months to get decent range of motion in it. Still have pain but it is manageable. Good luck and hope for a speedy recovery!

How's your shoulder stability? Any weird fucked up movement?

The real question is did they warranty your skis?

have you guys never learned anything about warranties over the millions of threads of "waaa i bwoke my skis i deserve new ones"

manufacturers don't care if you broke your skis because you ran into a ditch or did a press and snapped them, they warrantee them against manufacturing defects. not user error

and don't any of you flame me and say "well i broke my skis and they gave me a new pair", thats not how it works every time

Its getting better, still have the occasional pain when doing a not so standard movement(like swinging my kid around my head, lol). It took a while to even do a regular push up. That particular movement was difficult but I have kept working at it and have almost full range of motion and strength. Just have a fucked up looking shoulder now.
