ok i'll make this short because it may seem gay, but anyways ALWAYS check rails or jumps before u hit them... even if u have done them the day before, i hit a kinked box today that ive done it a billion times, and it was real sticky from the snow freezing over it from the night before i then fell and broke my shoulder all the way through... no skiing for 6-8 weeks, so just warning u all... cuz it sucks not to ski

damn, sorry to hear about that. i fell on a rail that i had done the day before, and i ended up ripping the bottom of my 1080's off becasue the burs on it were huge.

remember my name...

the kink box at our hill felt weird, so we checked it, only the jump onto the box was messed, 10 mins later we saw a boarder almost eat it, we investigated and there was a giant screw sticking out of the top with a bunch of plastic burrs all around it

Yea- god gave you a warm up run for a reason- stuff always changes, make sure you check it out-

SCAPULA!!! thats shitty, man...at least its your arm and not your leg...you can still go out and rock the groomers...my suggestion would be to go out and film/shoot all your friends...they will like you a lot, and then when you come back they are in debt to you have to return the favor...if not, get new friends.

yeah i agree with warm up runs. Gotta check speed on jumps with 360's and with rails i just do them to check them out.

benditto i think that kinda misses the point of checking them out before u hit them

Yeah, same kinda thing happened to me a few years ago, everything was going fine. I had been learning how to do railslides at these medium sized rail. I had done it quite a few times, but the last one something happened... My ski became stuck in the slush, and it torked out my leg and i got a spiral fracture along my tibia... simply because i didn't notice that the stuff had built up around it and when i fell forward it just caught my ski.

ok let me put it this way. If you are 'good' or comfortable with your skiing abilities hitting the rails or trying jumps with 3's is no big thing to check them out.

ya but it is hard with rails like to test how sticky or fast they are. with ur poles they always seem fast and a lot of times u can just get ur skis up on it. and feeling rails usually feels the same, but you u should check stuff out the best you can

really sorry to hear that bro, definitely some solid advice though. I've been having a real problem with that, it's my biggest problem with rails actually. I've gotten to a point where I pretty much have the basic technique down but I'm still having a ton of trouble with the fact that every rail is different. I used to lean back way too far and have my feet slide out from under me all the time but I've corrected that now, the only problem with that is if I go onto a rail the way I now know I have to for slick rails and it turns out the rail is super sticky then I totally eat shit, I got a mean case of whiplash last week actually. Any advice anyone can give other than trying to find a happy medium between leaning back and leaning forward?

i'm not sure benditto gets the point...which is a good one at that

hey thanks for all the positive comments guys, and yeah im gunna be taking alot of pictures and getting footage the rest of the season. And to Line 69 i used to have that problem too, if u just keep practicing u will get ur balance down for all the different types of rails and boxes, also sometimes u gotta take a small fall, so just know that u may be crashing and take it slow and be ready to just kinda absorb the fall, then ur next try u should have it for sure because u'll no how much u need to lean forward or back, basically its just trial and error, hope that helps

i was hitting a box all day and then one time i hit it my ski caught and popped off and I fell. So I go and look at the box and the top of the box was peeling up and a screw was missing. So i told the lift guy about it and it was gone the next day. I hope they're fixing it.

Coming Soon...

i was hitting a box the other day and getting killed and could not figure out why and then someone told me they got a new box that had little lips on it that looks exactly like the old one but the new one sucks ass

i dislocated my shoulder earlier this year because the gap between the two sheets of slippery stuff caught my edge and ripped my ski off
