Just quit my job, what the hell did I just do?

I was at work miserable, listening to a podcast featuring Bobcat Goldthwait, and he was saying something along the lines of "quit, quit as many times as you can until you find something you don't want to quit"

And I think I should have thought this out for more then the hour between then and lunch break.

You may be regretful now, but when you wake up tomorrow you may be the happiest man alive.

Find something that makes you happy and do it man.

Great move! Being impulsive can be dangerous, but it's great to just get up and say fuck it. I didn't straight quit my job, but one time I was so fed up at the place I was at I just sent a ballin ass cover letter email to this place I'd always wanted to work and the next day I got a reply for an interview and was given a job on the spot.

It's not always easy, but try something you never would consider doing and you might be turned on to something new.

never leave a job in a bad way, line up your next job and give your two weeks' notice like a man. burning bridges and being irresponsible isnt gonna help get your dream job

"There is no greater pain than waking up in the morning and knowing that you hate your fucking job"

The guy is right, find something that you like and get involved. There just might get work you love.

you're probably still young, there should be lots of options for you. I wouldn't want a job where its a pain to be every single minute of those 8hours a day. Its your life, you need to do something that seems worth spending your time on.

I hope you still live with your parents and don't have any bills to pay or you've got a heap of savings. Also hope your employer isn't so pissed at you for just walking out that they refuse to give you a reference!

I worked in a factory doing light manufacturing and packaging, literally standing in place for 8 hours straight doing the same exact arm motions 1000s of times a day.

Only good thing about it was $9 an hour around here is hard to find in a summer job.

I do still live at home, this is the last summer till I start college. Thinking about just road tripping camping around maybe go out to hood and maybe finding a job while I'm at it, start establishing residence somewhere else for CC and university unless I end up finding housing and sending it to Utah in the fall.

My boss called me in about wanting to be a manager. I nicely declined and told him no because I was pretty fed up with the shit pay I was getting as a cook when servers made 4x what I did. I did it in a very polite way that didn't harbor any negative feelings afterwards and he's still a reference for me but i felt successful in saying what had been on my mind for quite some time.

Now I have been accepted at my new job and so far things are working out great.

In what way? I was really bugged about my work conditions and the fact that they refuse to let males serve. So when my boss finally came in to talk to me, I told him what was on my mind and that i had found work elsewhere.

I fail to see where I'm a prick.

Now I'm kind of at a loss as to what I should do next? Something simple like find another job while still living at home or pack up the truck drive till I run out of gas and start working there

IMO, that is terrible advice. Some things in life are hard and you have to work at it, that doesn't mean you should never try to persevere through it.

I'm about to resign from my job in the next day or two...goodbye 100k salary with no job lined up yet.

sometimes you gotta make tough decisions in life and make good people mad at you.

Yeah, when were not pimpin', cooking meth, or slinging dope, then we do small aircraft repairs, inspections, imports, maintanence, etc...

Looks like a clean front for the side businesses; and it's always handy to have a few airplanes lying around for the long distance drops and deliveries.
