Summer jobs pay off! So stoked for winter. Also bought So Far So Hood and some NS stickers and a contributor icon.

What purchases have you guys made this summer?

I haven't even started yet...
But I know I'm looking at new skis, bindings, boots, and outerwear...probably spending a little over a grand...

working, selling stuff on here, ect...also, that's retail...I'll probably be getting some shop discounts, which help a lot.

FD suit. emppire gloves. splices and crowbars. oh and guess what...im still not done................

Fuck you...WHERE??? I want s914s (well actually s916s, but still, I'd settle for s914s), I miss mine dearly and can't find another pair.

fuck, I don't remember this...I should have snagged those...I might have had no moneys at that time, oh well, sick for you, love those bindings.

haha, you think a little over a grand is much, try needed 2 grand for all the stuff i need for next year.

Haha since this is basically a claim thread anyways...

a grand is nothing. Just over the summer I'll make at least 1500, closer to 1800. Then in the few months before the season but after summer (september-december) I'll prolly make another 1500. Plenty of money for ski stuff. /claim

The joys of a job, eh?

well get some prospective.

Not everyone puts 100% of their income into skiing, some have living expenses and other interests. Anyways, your income for like 6 months is a lot of money. it's more than alot of people on earth will ever make, and it's certainly a ton to drop on ski gear that won't be cool next year.

Haha I think you mean perspective :P

And yea, that's definitely true. But I'm only making minimum wage and working about 25 hours a week during the summer and about 15 during the school year, so I do hope that I don't make more than a lot of people on earth. Also, I figure most of the people on NS who are spending all this money on new gear are teenagers so hopefully they don't have very many, if any living expenses. As for other interests, for sure - I don't put all my income into skiing either, but it definitely isn't cheap and does take up a lot of money.

For sure. Whats your job and pay rate? I'd love to get that gig. I work for my uncle's painting company for the summer and I'm making 11.50 an hour. But the catch is that I have to pay for my gas as long as I have this job pretty much.

Bought my cross suit. Spent $116 on a warning for fishing without a license. Other than that, I haven't spent any money. Looking to buy some new shades though.

I'm only student minimum wage and I'm in Ontario so it's 9.60 CAD. Which is like 9.20 USD. And I'm working in a Chinese restaurant. Pretty tiring job and I spend pretty much the whole time in the kitchen but atleast the hours are pretty good. 11.50 is pretty good if you ask me. How many hours a week are you working? And have you worked out about how much you're making if you subtract gas?

Yeah I usually work 8 hours a day for 5 days a week. Grand total including subtracting insurance costs and all that is around 300 a week. Don't really know what I spend on gas but I get pretty good gas mileage with a Saturn SL1.
