Outerwear, function of fashion?

seems like function should be more important, yet it really isn't commonly emphasized that way by most people out there doing freestyle shit.

So with all the extra baggy clothing material hanging off of you, its dead weight. And if something doesn't fit properly, then it is at least in one way or more constricting to body movement.

point is:
- going out of the way to make your presence on the hill well known is no different than a girl wearing high heels to a party in the middle of winter

discuss/hate/preach

 
nah dude my baggy ass pants help me keep my stance wide on rails caus i have to spread my legs to keep them up. But really, baggy(ish) stuff makes tricks look better

yeah well tight shit when trying to do maneuvers that require a lot of free motion is no better than wearing a tall tee that goes down to your knees

what i'm getting at is more so how all of the people on the hill that look like they are dressed up for halloween are a bunch of queens and attention whores

i'm just contending how people going out of their way to draw attention to themselves are comparable to slutty girls wearing disfunctional attire

LET OTHERS DO AS THEY WISH! It in NO WAY affects you so why do you care. If NS got a donation of $5 every time someone made a thread telling people how to dress and act Doug wouldnt have to work ever again. LET IT BE. You coming on here and telling kids that what they are doing is dumb in your eyes WILL NOT change anything. How about instead of calling out everyone else on their styles everyone just spends that much more time skiing and developing their own style whether it be gangster or emo or artst or hesher or what ever they want. People need to stop caring so much about what other people wear.

but i did see some skier rocking the mnt lab suit the other day. kinda wish he wouldve skied off a 320 cliff at 80kmh or something like that.
 
I would wear tall tees and a few thermals on days that were like 15-20 degrees and I was fine, I've never found a jacket that is actually better than a hoodie and a few shirts, besides having pockets, but I hate carrying stuff with me anyway so I dont use them either way
 
You must wear really shitty jackets

Where i live it snows, snow is condensed water, cotton absorbs water and that can be pretty cold. I prefer jackets.
 
i really hate how so many people think tight=emo. it doesnt, its just a style and some people can really pull it off and make it looks sweet. ive seen others who cant and it looks terrible. but my point is dont stereotype people with tight clothing.
 
I dunno, I kind of thought that would happen too but as long as you don't sit in the snow for longer than a minute you don't really get wet at all. Crashing only gets you wet in puddles or spring conditions

I like a huge jacket because it is really comfortable and I can easily wear 2 hoody's underneath it on freezing days. I don't think it gets in the way at all.
 
i just recently figured out ultimately how much more comfortable i feel in a big jacket and pants then smaller ones, not that i care what people wear because by all means wear whatever you want or feel is comfortable but i have a reason for my clothing.
 
wait, whats considered baggy or tight here?

there has to be some sort of standard, some may consider a size Large coat to be tight
 
ok . so i wear xxl shit all the time and i love it. i have some samples in Large and they are restricting and cold. point is. my baggy stuff is warmer because its bigger and its easier to trick in cause its loose.
