Jumps tips

i need some tips on doing bigger jumps

even when i straight air the jump.... i roll down the windows big tyme, and start to sketch out in the air

some tymes its so bad that i cant even get in a safety, or something small like that

if i cant stop sketching out in the air when i straight air the jump, theres no hope for spins

any help with that would be apreceated
 
well start on smaller jumps and do grabs. make sure to bring your legs up to your hand and not to bend over to get to your skis.
 
you need to think about it like you are jumping off the lip instead of just going off it. you need to pop and set you weight forward to get a smooth trajectory. you probably do this without thinking on the smaller jumps because a lot less force is exerted on your body so it isn't so hard to counteract and stay up and forward. with the biggies, you are going faster and you have to be stronger in keeping those hands right our in front of your body and popping aggressively. do it a bunch of times and it will be more natural. then, spin your heart out...which will just add a new element to mess things up, but that's why you practice and you'll get it down.
 
i find it easier to spin off bigger jumps were id get off balance on just straight airing, spinning gives you somthing to do for the time your in the air makes me feel more balanced.

so i usually guinea jumps with a 1 now.
 
you probably wouldnt flail in the air as much when you are actually doing a trick because you are thinking about the trick
 
lol wow i noticed that too... But yea big things you need to worry about when you start jumping are, weight forward, hands foward, and pop. Once you get that down spinning is just a matter of trying it. Make sure you are confident with the jump before you try anything off the jump... landings will come much more easily that way
 
striaght airing is hard dude, it really is. for me, when i spin on jumps, it forget about the jumping aspect completely and just focus on my spin/grab/whatever im doing. make sure when you hit the jump you pop as hard as you can also, becuz without realizing it you could be getting more and more scared while approaching the jump, and you might forget to pop, so just chill out and treat it like a 10 footer. gl
 
i like to pop of the jump a little then let the jump do it- you have more control- for spinning spin with your hips- that way u dont pencil out
