Tldr: The man with the biggest balls in pro skiing, Julian Carr has launched a kickstarter campaign to put a global warming ad in the super bowl with a goal of 5.5 million

My opinion: I super stoked to see this activism because global warming is going to change our world and effect us greatly. I am a little disappointed to see this campaign start so late. Sorry if this is a repost, I didn't see any thread on it.

Waste of money, nobody isnt aware of the problem. If the ad was going to be for a certain charity directly fighting climate change, that would be different, but really just awareness....everybody is already aware. Not everybody may agree, but everybody is aware and a 30-second ad wont change anybody's mind.

I recommend people donate their money to a charity like this one https://www.givingwhatwecan.org/report/cool-earth/ rather than some ad only meant to raise awareness for a problem everyone is already aware of.

Id also put money on the fact that a car marker will highlight global warming in their ad anyway.
