JP is one of our sport's greatest pioneers, and has been wrecking shit on film for almost ten years now. He's battled through many an injury, chronic back trouble, and re-ignited a career that at times many thought was dead. Hell, JP and some of his cronies are basically the reason skis have two tips. His contributions to Armada, and skiing as a whole notwithstanding.

He's always thrown down on film, from State of Mind, to winning The Game, and now in 2005 with the BEST segment in War, and probably one of the best segments of the year.

On top of all that, he's one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

A toast, to JP.

completely agree.........JPs segment in war this year was the best JP segment ive ever seen. I mean hes older now and hes throwing dope cork 3s and spinning onto urban rails AND dropping major lines

i've always had faith in JP. not that he's needed it, because he kills all aspects of the sport. but he's definitely been the man since i got into this scene, and will always be. i'll drink to that toast.

i was ready for the AK lines, but the 270 the urban/bridge rail and the huge concrete kinker surprised me so much...and its a sick song

Dont forget Vinny!! He's been in every PBP movie since day one, and Johny is claiming thaT vinny will have one of the sickest segment.

And what about JF! He was the ambassador for style attitude and tricks. Dont you worry... he still rides.

 
ya after seeing war JP in my opinion is one of the best skiers out there his segment was amaazing that triple kink concrete ledge was crazy

yup, he's the coolest skier out there. Not a gangster, just a great happy progressive skier. And he signed me a poster and we talked in french.

yea jp is just wow. he certianly pushed this sport, but its amazing that he has been in it so long and is still a leader, its nuts

I was so surprised at JP's seg in war. It is his best segment, but I'm reluctant to say it was the best. It was defineately one of the best. The 4 kink concrete ledge was amazing and there were so many style-encredible lookign jumps stomped to shit. It was very good.

i cant take him[liam downey] seriously cuz his name reminds me of that downy bear from back when i was a kid -d loc

I don't deny there are bad things in the US right now, hell, 51% of the country to be exact. But god damnit, our country being fat is NOT a problem. I do't give a shit how fat people are. hell, fat kids are harder to kidnap, that means our country is safer.

Did you see the huge back flip he pulled off that cliff in War, It was nutty. JP has been my favorite skier for a long time, mostly because it just seems like he's having fun with wahtever he's doing.

Ok, I don't think it was THE BEST segment, but one of the top 3. He had a whole bucnh of stylie shots. Like the 4 kinked concrete ledge was dope, and the 180/270 off the rail at the beginning was soooo smooth. Somehow, after not seeing many vids from last year, and not seeing anythign from him since 1242, I wasn't expecting much from him(especially since I haven't heard much about him lately), but I'm so surprised and blown away by his segment. I can't wait to see what shots he's gonna have in whiteshine.

I hope that was less confusing.

It's true, i don't have war yet but i'm sure that his part will be radical. And he is definatley pretty much the reason newschool skiing began. I love jp.

sure all those guys are the "godfathers" of skiing, but they need to go away. these guys deserve respect and should move into industry jobs (i know some of them have), but they shouldn't be getting parts anymore. allow other deserving people to come into skiing.

 
i've seen war and want to add that our films suck too. our film makers should retire and some new creative people should take over. go watch futureproof then watch war. skiing sucks right now, i hope it improves...

 
It's too bad he helped start such a sweet company but now it's more worth their while to recruit up-and-comers than it is to pay him what he's worth anymore. Best War segmant or not it will be his last, at least with Armada.
