Joystick these mounting

So I mounted my Joystick these this summer and I told the tech I wanted it center mounted (being its a symmetrical ski) and so i got them mounted and picked them up but didnt really look at them much, till now. I finally took them out of the garage and They looked off so anyways i decided to measure them and they are mounted -2.5 from center so basically the shopped fucked up.

What should I do?

Should I remount them? and if i do do you think the shop will do it for free even though its been like 5 months and I dont have a recipe or anything

or should I just ski with them the way they are and not put more holes in the ski?

plus k for helpful answers!!!

I'd take them for a spin and see if you like them. Then if not (or if you think you can enjoy them at center even more) go into the shop and have them remount. Make sure it was 100% their fault tho. Don't call them out for q lack of communication on your part(not saying that you did)

alright man thanks and it definitely wasnt a communication problem cuz i told the guy what i wanted and even wrote it down on the slip a paper

Alright so I'd confront them about the issue of your sure it was their fault. Just tell them they screwed up and your gonna test them out and if you don't like them ask for a free remount since it was their fault.

On another note, is it just me or do shops give less and less worries on their customers? I even see it at my local shop. Especially since the other shop went outta buiz and no competition

Yup do as Lincoln said. This is a classic mistake by ski shops. Only way to guarantee it not happening is marking the line yourself.

Always put a piece of tape with a sharpie line on the ski where you want them mounted. Even though the shop should pay more attention to what you tell them/write down, its easier to just avoid the hassle of getting them remounted by doing the tape method

I fucking hate ski shops sometimes. I told the guy -2 from true center and he mounted it -2 from recommended (-6) from true center. He gave me a free remount but I ended up like -1.5 from true center because the holes would be too close together.

yeah it fuckin sucks

this has been the 2nd time they screwed up

Something about fool me once, and fool me twice comes to mind right about now.

I'd view this as the ski gods warning you about buying surface skis.

Also, did surface not put the mounting location on the ski? And if they did, why the fuck was it not dead center on a symmetrical ski? Silly surface making shitty skis with shitty quality control.

There are no mount marking on the skis

I really want to argue with you about this, but there's no point.

Okay, so I have them too... You'll realize that the checkers extend further from the toe piece, this is because the heel piece is longer (ik, duh). Well what this does is it makes the binding look to be mounted further back than normal (yes, graphics can be deceiving). Another thing to keep in mind is that center is not measured from your boots, not your binding placement (hence "boot-center"). I hope this might help, if not then you had bad luck lol :(
