JOSS Team Europe

Well, not my favorite skier, Id have loved to see Bene Mayr in the team, but anyway, they'll definitely slay JOSS !
Too bad Lolo Favre wont be in any team this year....he's an amazing skier and his last year JOSS edit was so ill...
 
Oooh HELL NO !

Again, a Swedish?!! I mean we have already a team Sweden, and there is already an other Swedish in team Europe, why the fuck should they pick an other one...

Having said that, I know Oscar is a sick skier, but there were so many others and on top of this, I'm just not a huge fan of the "gangsta / 17XL tall tee / always trying to look badass " thing that the harlaut's seem to carry with them.

All in all... Not stoked.

and are jacob and elias killing the urban? but Oscar definitely does!!
 
how about you learn not to be so damned hateful on your own sport? it'll be sick and if there are others that deserve to be in JOSS, they'll succeed despite not being in it this year.
 
Oscar is so ill he's got sw dub 12s which not too many have though he won't need that much of a jump game with his teammates. Team Europe needed someone to destroy urbans, Elias is TERRIBLE at rails (no hate) and Oscar brings the urban steeze they needed
 
to the ones being negative about oscar being team europe's man - yall better start recognize style!! Who acres if he's 3XL or slim fit? Style's got nothing to do with what clothes you wear!!

Oscar is a really stylish skier, just like his brother! Looking a lot forward to see what he lays down!!!
 
I do recognize style, but style is subjective buddy. I, for one, don't like Henrik Harlaut style... I find it way over the top, it's just not my thing. As for his brother, I won't say much since I didn't see enough footage for me to say I don't like his style.

As for the "2 team America problem", it's different. Team newschoolers was chosen by newschoolers wich are mostly americans. The goal was to choose a team that represent this website wich I think we did.

As for team Europe, like the name implies, should be a team representing Europe. Now I have my opinion and I'm a bit disapointed that this opportunity to represent Europe wasn't fully used. We already have a team Sweden and there are so many sick skier from France, Germany, Austria, England and such that are not represented. I do think it's a shame but hey.. It's just my opinion. I was happy for Wester getting picked since I trully think he deserves it. And I'm still stoked as fuck for JOSS.

 
i agree, 4swedish skier, 0 from austria/swiss/germany/france. is that really representative of the world sickest skier? certainly not . i thought that was the goal...
 
Actually it's 5 Swedish skiers. Really. Wester, Harlaut, Harlaut, Scherlin and one rookie. What the fuck?
 
This is exactly the thought process we used in the decision. Elias and Jacob are not strong jibbers so we needed to find the best rail skier possible who could still throw down on jump to make a well rounded team.
 
Last time I checked, Sweden was a part of Europe. In fact, some of the best skiers in the world are from Sweden. The only sick skier(not counting pipe) from Switzerland, Germany, France or Austria is Elias Ambuhel. And even mentioning England is a disgrace, James Woods(did i get the name right?) is miles behind JOSS-level both techvise and stylevise.

Europe, just face it, you are falling way behind the scandos.

Harlaut deserved it, especially since he's contributing something for the team that they do not already have.

Sorry, bro usually your posts are legit and well informed but this is utter rubbish. Harlaut was probably the best rail skier to enter the comp that i'm not disputing and taking tactics into account here that makes hime probably the best man for the job. How ever, James Woods slays jumps better than most(if not all) of the people that entered the comp, he has dub corks on lock and maybe isn't a world class jibber but to say mentioning England was a disgrace is pretty stupid. Just so you know, Joe Tomlinson, from England, did a dub cork 14 first go last month. Unity prod have been on multiple rail trips this season i think you are going see the real extent of UK skiings ability when that footy drops. And thats just England.Lets talk about what i saw when i was in France... I can't spell his first name and i can't even say his second but I saw a guy called Guilemme(or something, hes pro on head?) do a swdub10 one day, then i went up skiing the next day and saw him do the same trick the other way, how many people in the world can do that? I saw some incredible rail tricks from riders that weren't even sponsored and dubs from guys that only get minimal hook ups. I think the reason you think Scandinavia is way ahead is cos you live there, you see whats going on sooner or even first hand, now im not saying there aren't TONS of the most technical and stylish skiiers out up there but I just think the way you think of european skiing is completely wrong.
Oh and btw, Lolo and Mik D are from those countrys you listed and they will out-steeze anyone.
 
some ppl (no hate to somebody) have fuckin no idea about skiers in swiss or austria or france! even italy!

there are many underground skiers who are damn good! no doubles..but that'll be fine! I mean christian bieri, swiss, has magical skills on rails (yes they are different and maybe not that hyphy,who cares) and he invented some really badass tricks! i think most ppl here never heard of him...and yes, the british skiers ski on a gnarly high level! At last, i think Oscar is the best choice, cuz he's different then wester and ambuehl. i tell you, this team is gonna slay!
 
Oscar is gonna SLAY this . Such a good choice. He has the balance going between style and tricks on both rails and jumps, unlike Wester.
 
It's funny, because I used to think that Wester had crazy style and skills on rails, especially urban back in the day. He just started focusing on big air.
 
Yeah man, no hate on Oscar at all, but it makes the whole voting system on Downdays an absolute waste of time seeing as Oscar had one of the lowest amount of votes.

Toni Hoellwart is coming to Mayrhofen tomorrow for the Oakley Jib-Vid contest so we'll get to see what he can do anyway.

Oscar is such a down to earth kid. Just because he wears a tall tee that hangs a little bit under his jacket doesn't make him "badass, gangsta" whatever. Who would you rather have in place of Oscar?
