JOSS 2010

that is not normal that there is no team france, there is a team norway a team sweden but no team france? WTF? we have a lot of sick skier in france so why jon want to do a team europe and not a team france? maybe a team France-Swiss? that is a little bet offensive to not care of that...

From JO website:

"

Lets start with Team Norway as that is the easiest team!

Norway.

Pretty super simple, when you have the two top guys in the same country who also won last year its pretty easy!

Andreas Håtveit

PK Hunder

+Rookie
(A

video qual will be taken place at Friflyt.no where skiers can send in a

video, the best one will join the team and travel to JOSS.) More info

on this soon here in the blog!

Sweden.

I thought long and hard about this, in the end I decided to give

room for the young Swedish skiers and put myself on a different side of

the event. I will still be skiing just as hard and compete in JOI. But

this gives me more time to be a host and create a more unique angle on

my movie segment to give you a different view on JOSS. When I made this

decision it was super tough for me, but the more I have thought about

it, the better I feel about it, have so many ideas on how to create a

very entertaining segment!

Henrik Harlaut

Oscar Scherlin

+Rookie
(A

video qual will be taken place at Freeride.se where skiers can send in

a video, the best one will join the team and travel to JOSS.) More info

Europe.

This is the hardest team to put together as there is so many good

skiers out there, in the end I decided that i should not be the one to

judge who is better then the other. So I thought that letting this

falls Big Air events decied who should go would be a more fair system.

I am glad to see who came out on top on this. I think Elias and jacob

will create a great team!

A pretty interesting list!

Elias Ambuhl

Jacob Wester

+ Rookie
(A

video qual will be taken place at Downdays.eu where skiers can send in

a video and the best one will join the team and travel to JOSS.) More

info on this soon here in the blog!

I have read all threads and comments on JOSS and I know that a lot

of people think that I should add more teams. I would love to do this

but it just does not work to have more skiers, we are already pushing

it.

8 teams with 3 skiers in each is 24 guys. Transporting all these guys

to the locations and the shuttleing them up and down is a hand full as

it is. Hope you guys understand this!

Hope you like the selections, there will always be thoughts on

things like this, but I have tried my very best to pick the best guys,

adn I am very happy with the result!

***Rookie means that the skier can not have been o the X games

before. (if they get invited to X this year they can still go to JOSS)

Time to go ski!

JON

"

So there you gooooo! So Stoked to see Elias going !

There should be yes, I don't see Jon coming back on his word.. But be patient, he will explain how we'll choose them shortly I guess.

Again I'm still waiting to see if the other teams will be the same... If there's gonna be team USA and America, and If Carlsson will be back and so on... There's plenty of info yet to come.

Look at that score table, although Wester is 10th in the overalls, he's in, so think it confirms that:

Team Australia has Russ Henshaw.

Wallisch in Team USA.

Schiller in Team Canada.

Bobby Brown in ...where is he from?

You're wrong.

This point system was for Team EUROPE qualification... Jon took the first 2 european that wasn't already in a team. So for the rest, we can assume Henshaw , Wallisch and so on will be still in JOSS but this sure is no proof.

heardddddddddd that. that kid would kill anything..

sammy will probably be back in the event as well this year. considering tanner is hurt and won't be shreddin in ak or anywhere. sammy is back on the park scene more this year it seems anyway. and is slaying every event so far

Jon, not to call you out but there is one thing I don't really like about this.. Last year's team europe was a last minute deal so fair enough to have HH in there.. but this year you have 3 swedish riders on team sweden and another one in team europe.. that leaves two spots for the whole of the rest of europe (outside of norway + sweden).. I think Elias obviously deserves a spot so no complaints there,. but I don't think Jacob should be on team europe. Don't get me wrong. I think Jacob kills it and definitely deserves a place, but he should be on team Sweden.. Neither Oscar nor Henrik have been to the X-games, so one of them can count as the 'rookie'. Oscar, Henrik and Jacob as team Sweden.. and then Elias and one of the other European riders as team europe? There are so many riders from all over europe that should get a shot that having them all compete for one place seems harsh. This isn't meant to take away from the event which is definitely the best event out there. Just a suggestion.

I hope phil c is going to be in team canada cause he has shown in the last year that he can kill it with the sickest style. I can't imagine what his video would look like.

= excellent sparknotes from my post before. If anyone doesn't want to read mine.. this sums it up.

I dont think Oscar should be on team sweden, he is good an all, but there are kids that kills it 100000 times harder than him that deserves the spot more.

I dunno who will decide who the rookies are, but whoever you are. For either Team Sweden or Team Europe, take Oscar Harlaut. Hes so fucking good and gets nothing for it.

Pretty standard announcements I'm kinda surprised Jon took himself out though (also think Jacob, Henrik, and Oscar scherlin would be a good team though)

YESS!

And Canada should be TJ, Chug and Leigh Powis(he really proved himself this year i think)

My predict:

its early and im not that sure but still:

Team Sweden:

- Jon, Henrik, (Elias)

Team Norway:

-Hatveit, Fosse

Team Europe:

-Elias Ambuehl, Henrik (that would be freakin siiiiiiiiiiiick!!!)

is there a team america??

if yes.. Wallisch/ (AND WHY THE HELL NOT JUST STEVE STEPP???? everybody doesnt even think about him man!!!

and i dont care about the rest....

replace simon with lj or sammy. i hate to say it but simon's big air game just isn't as good as a lot of other guys. his pipe and slope game are still lookin good, but he really isn't a very good teammate in a competition like joss.

''First. The part about picking Teams for JOSS is the worst thing about organizing this event, its not fun at all, but I try my best to make everyone happy!Teams
I saw that there was a bit of confusion as a few people thought that these three teams previously announced where the only teams at JOSS- Not True! This is the complete list of teams at JOSS 2010.
1. Sweden
2. Norway
3. Europe
4. USA
5. Newschoolers
6. Canada
7. Down Under
8. Japan
Riders from each country will be announced as soon as the invited riders has confirmed.Other countries
There was a lot of comments saying that a few nations where being favored and others not getting any skiers at all. When you have to limit the amount of people you invite this will always be a problem. I tried my best to give everyone a chance with the “qual system” to Team Europe, if they where that good, then they had the chance to qualify.''
