Jon Olsson wins FIS GS in New Zealand

Yep Jon won the GS at treble Cone today. His dream of making it too the 2014 games is look better. Still a ways to go yet, scoring 25 points insnt going to cut it but its a good start. He needs to move onto to some races with better athletes now. Anyone know if he is going to the races at cornet? good penalty usualy there. Killing it in the park and the race course, he has to be the best all round skier.

This would get great publicity for Freeskiing if Jon could steal the show at FIS WC Events. That is awesome! Way to go Jon!!

Now Tanner V.S. Bode Would be quite the feud to watch if Tanner ever wanted to venture onto a racecourse again.
 
thats nutz, he is rediculous!! oh, and where are all the people on this site that always feel the need to say, blah blah blah racing is soo gay blah blah? afriad to trash it now that jon is racing again?
 
This man never fails to amaze me. I think he has a good shot at making it to the Olympics if he doesn't get injured. Does anyone think that he absolutely won't make it?
 
He will probably have to lose the freeski scene all together at some point.

Competing with the best on the planet in any discipline takes ridiculous commitment, it is pretty tough to do both things full time and expect to make it.

but if anyone can do it, maybe Jon can.
 
The gay thing about racing, in my mind at least, is the people involved. Now that Jon is doing it, Being a rad park skier, its gayness is brought down a few notches.
 
i say freeskiers take over racing

if they wont let us have our own events in the olympics then lets take over the events that already exist

i think his chances of making the olympics are very slim.

don't get me wrong though, just him being able to win events is sick, but i don't think he will be THAT good...
 
thats sick he can go from doing crazy shit off huge jumps like dub flips to winning a GS race.

Bode can also do Corks and Rodeos apparently he was caught twintipping somewhere last year... Maybe braking into freeskiing?
 
for those that have never raced tho holy shit he said something earlier in the year about starting at the back of the field and still finishing first god damn. seriously starting super late in a gs is fucking scary because it gets rutted to shit and is so hard to keep an early line, you get late so quick and then you are fucked. seriously this just proves to people that 1. racing isn't as gay as you thought because someone like jon is doing it and people love it and 2. he is a burly ass skier and can do anything damn he is amazing

it would be in everyones best interest to encourage jon to leave freeskiing, he has brought nothing to the table but 1998 style hucking. take your FIS standards and your aerials flips andmake cool video blogs so you can watch and listen to yourself every night. so hot right now.
