JOB: Summer Eco-Adventure Camp Program Instructors



Mt Seymour Eco-Adventure Summer Camp is hiring mature and responsible Summer

Program Instructors for our wilderness-based day camps. Our camps engage kids

aged 5 to 12 in nature education, wilderness survival skills, and personal

growth.




QUALIFICATIONS &

ATTRIBUTES (REQUIRED):

·Positive

role model
for children aged 5-12

·Familiarity

with Mt Seymour summer hiking trails

·Knowledge

of Mt Seymour flora and fauna

·Knowledge

of primitive survival skills and bushcraft

·Demonstrated

group leadership skills in an outdoor (preferably wilderness) setting

·Knowledge

of wilderness safety and etiquette

·Experience

working with children
aged 5 to 12

·Excellent

communication skills, both written and verbal

·Current

first aid certificate

·Commitment

to environmental responsibility

·Flexible

schedule



QUALIFICATIONS &

ATTRIBUTES (DESIRED):

·Degree or

diploma in outdoor recreation or adventure tourism or equivalent experience

·Formal

interpretation experience

·Reliable

transportation

·Class 4

drivers license



Camp Instructors will work collaboratively to do the

following:


·Develop

and refine age-appropriate summer program content

·Deliver

daily programming

·Be

responsible for the care, safety of, and injury prevention of campers

·Develop

props and supporting material/equipment

·Maintain

a positive camp environment



OTHER:

·Employment

duration from June 18 to August 31

·Approximately

30-40 hours per week

·Must be

willing to complete a criminal record check

·$12-14 per hour based on

experience
