JJs or Bubbas? from Norwalks. +k

So I bought a pair or Norwalks after demoing the 175 JJ. I really needed to try the 185, and that ended up being why I bought the Norwalk because the short JJ wasn't stable at high speeds. After skiing on the Norwalks for one season, I've found they KILL at high speeds, I can straight line anything, but I have trouble pushing around the long tail of the 189 in the tight trees.

My question is then, I want to replace them with either a 185 JJ, which I demoed this season and would like better, but am also thinking of maybe getting the bubba, as the larger rocker could make the tight turns in tree skiing easier. Thoughts?

never tried the bubba put they look like a very deep days ski, jj would probably be better in tight trees with the short radius they have

Thanks for the reply.

I was fairly convinced on the JJ, but I read some reviews that said the Bubba was quick in trees because of the rocker (tails releasing easy). It was the first time I've heard something like that.

How much pow are you skiing? The Bubbas are really meant for solely deep snow, and they are going to feel far less versatile then the Norwalk.

As far as pow skiing, the most I get is exploring tight trees to find the left overs, thus I need a quick ski. I was gonna go with the JJ, but I came across something that said about how the rocker in the bubbas allows them to be super quick in turns, as opposed to the straight non-rocketed tail of the norwalk.

I'd go with the JJ's. The Bubba is more of a deeper cat skiing sort of ski where you know you'll be skiing deep snow. But the JJ 115 underfoot will allow you to have flow on pow days as well as being quick and skinny enough to bounce through trees.

The JJ is also overall stiffer than the Bubba which will allow you to bomb larger runs faster. I'd get the JJ.

Praxis GPO. The thing charges hard like your Norwalk but it is also very nimble. You can change the flex of your ski too if you want something softer at no cost, and make it lighter. Its custom and its cheap. Go hit it it up athttp://www.praxisskis.com/products/2015-gpo.html . Im grabbing a pair as soon as I finish my custom graphic. There's also a huge GPO thread on Teton Gravity to check out if you want to make up your mind. It charges like a Billy Goat but its more nimble and is better in all conditions. This might be what you're looking for. 116 underfoot will provide you with the float you need guaranteed. You can email the owner Keith as well, he will respond to all your questions and give you great advice. Ask around in these GPO threads for discount codes too.

Thanks for the replies, good thoughts from all. I was sure on the JJs, then I heard that about the bubbas and I was curious. Also curious about the Praxis brand, definitely gonna look into that. I like the idea of the custom ski.
