Jiberish?

Being on the older spectrum on NS, I’m disappointed with Jiberish lately. No outerwear or vests for this season and they seem to be down trending at least as far as in freestyle skiing. It stinks because we were their main supporters originally. Are they going under? Thoughts ?

They're becoming more of a streetwear clothing brand than a winter sports outerwear company lately. I don't think they're struggling at all right now, so many people I know in Denver wear Jib and had no idea it was a ski apparal company before I told them

I think they are trying to shift to a different and much larger market. Is there stuff sick for skiing anymore? Not really. Is there stuff sick to just wear on the daily? I think so.

I’d say they were pretty ass with all the over priced high end jackets and black and grey scales, lohi was forsure a more vibey location, but they opened 2 stores and expanded to some sort of partnership with fice as well, you never see any of the owners anymore just interns and employees, old Jiberish was golden forsure, but I will give the 2019 stuff credit since April showers credit as a solid revival. 16-19 pretty ehh but I think they’re back with something

Jiberish has been making big changes in 2019 and it shows in how they’ll repost Instagram models with big butts wearing their stuff who’ve never skied in their life. I’m ok with it but I understand why people who have fucked with the brand for years don’t like how their trying to expand their market.

It’s almost like they didn’t want skiing to be their audience. They either intentionally left or have no idea what they’re doing.

why tf would they give a fuck about whether a tiny demographic of poor teenagers want to buy their stuff. they're huge now

Yeah, I kept on checking in on Jiberish to see if they had any ski outerwear but no! Their streetwear stuff looks sick ngl but I'm disappointed in them.

I definitely wouldn’t consider jiberish huge at all lmao. Maybe colored to where they were 10 years ago but in terms of people knowing what the brand is...I don’t think so.

I would say that Saga is huge. Jiberish? They only have 38k on Instagram and probably paid for a blue check by their name.

more a of boulder frat brand than a skiing brand imho.

i dont really miss that unboxing-esque fad of people on NS posting about all the shit they got in those black boxes they used to do or whatever

lol yes that’s the point - they clearly didn’t intend on sticking around skiing. I’ve never seen somebody agree so angrily.

Also, they are not huge. 95% of people in the real world have never ever heard of them.

fax- up in Fort Collins all these cali kids that have never seen snow are bleeding jiberish out the ass

Jiberish is doing just fine. Very excited about their focus since the April showers collection last spring. The owners are involved in multiple business ventures, which were built off of Jiberish’s strength. Both in cut and sew and with retail. The brand managers work closely with the OGs to keep things in motion from what I can tell.

Tom Wallisch doesn’t wear it any more but Jiberish is still out here doing their thing. Including helping produce a ski video each of the past 3 seasons. That should eliminate the idea they have bailed on us.

95% of people in the real world aren’t aware of anything but amazon and go puff...
