Jiberish has disappointed me :(

So last year, around the start of the july, i bought the newly released J-crown new era. I bought it the day of. Now, less then a year later, the button on the top falls off while im taking off my hat. I send an email for asking for warranty but they say since it was MANUFACTURED in may, the warranty has ended (one year warranty) that makes no sense to me though. The hat was sitting in a box until i payed a arm and a leg for it. from that date, it definitely hasn't been a year.

Do you guys think im unreasonable for thinking that they would warranty it? remember, i payed more then $60 for it after shipping. Also, it's a limited edition hat. Also, i only ever wore it on occasions where im just walking to a friends house or to school. Never did it touch the ground or was it handled in a rough way.

in short: button on top of jiberish new era falls off after treating it like a king for less then a year. They say no warranty since it was manufactured in may of that year. (their warranty policy is one year)

soo what do you want? everybody to feel sorry for you? shit breaks, deal with it. And the title should be "New Era has disappointed me", jiberish, other than the design, has nothing to do with the making of these hats

...you spent 60 dollars on a hat... i mean i guess thats cool if thats what ur into.

on the other hand, if it has a warranty that is from date of manufacture you should be able to find proof. try em several times. be persistant and let em know ur pissed.

When did i say i wanted people to feel sorry for me? I asked if you guys thought i was unreasonable for wanting a warranty of some sort. Even them just fixing it.

This is on their FAQ:

Q: My Jiberish gear seems to have suffered from a manufacturing defect, what is your WARRANTY?

A: Jiberish strives to uphold the highest quality and stands by that quality. Manufacturing defects can slip through the process and make it into your hands even with our strict quality control. If this happened to you we want to know about it and do our best to remedy the situation by repairing or replacing the item if deemed a manufacturing defect. Please contact us at customerservice@jiberish.com

From my experience, this is manufacturing defect. I've had other new era's before and the button has never come off, even after treating them like shit, the opposite of how i treated this hat.

i'm merely asking for an opinion.

Honestly, i wouldn't have normally but i figured i needed a new hat and that i only get one like every 2 years. Also, i wanted to support a skiing brand. I figured it would be better quality...

the email they sent back to me basically says that the warranty starts on the day that the hat's are manufactured and ends a year later. Apparently that was May of last year. I bought the hat on the day it released which was June 29th. They said that the warranty starts on manufacture date which makes no sense to me since it's not like the hat has been doing anything other then sitting in a cardboard box waiting to be bought and sent out. I just think the warranty should start on day of purchase, and from that day, it hasn't been a year for sure. I got a solid 2 weeks till it's one year anniversary.

That's just my stance on the situation though, im asking for NS's opinion.

Its a shitty situation, but it is not Jiberish's fault. It would be awesome if they helped you out, but it is not their responsibility.

Yeah definitely. I understand where you're coming from. Really, the part that doesnt make sense to me is that the warranty they talk about starts on manufacturing day and not on purchase. I guess i'm the only one who thinks that.

That is weird, but even giving you that is still pretty generous. Most companies give you money back/warranty in 30 days or less. Jiberish gave you 8 or so months to break it.

I am sorry that it fell apart though. That's always a bummer

I assume without the button the whole hat will peel into sections or "banananize" if you will

Does super glue work with fabric to fabric? or metal to fabric?

and no having the button not there does not affect anything significant other than me liking the hat better with the button.

just put some hot glue on there.

why would you expect Jiberish to warranty an almost-year old hat for a button on top that can be fixed within 2 minutes?

Grow up.

you make no sense

do you seriously expect jiberish to warentee a tiny part of a hat a year after the warentee is up? every warentee is based on the manufacture date.

in your logic, i could have a 2 yr old fd jacket, with a week long warentee. then i take it out of the box and in 2 days a zipper breaks. do you think they would warentee that? NO

i believe your being honest about it, but from a business standpoint, whats to say your not bullshitting them and you actually caused this? and they cant be giving out replacements to everyone who claims they hardly used it and only wore it for 6 months.

and even if it was manufactured before you received it, they have no proof of when you got it, and most online warentees start from the manufactured date....

"Our warranty policy for defective products lasts for a year, and as that hat was made last May, it is no longer under this warranty."

That what the email they sent to me said. If it is a company policy, then it should be from the day that the company sold me the hat. Which was june 29 since i bought it on release. If it was New Eras warranty policy, i would totally agree with you.

Maybe im interpreting it wrong.

I can tell that im the only one who thinks the implementation of this warranty policy is wrong. Im good with the fact that theyre not sending me anything, but from what they said i should have some kind of warranty.

whatever im over it /thread

I agree that it is weird for them having the warranty be from the manufacturing date instead of the purchase dat. However you could probably easily hot glue the button back on.

this times a billion

seems like an incredibly easy fix. it's a fuckin button. glue that shit on or get your mommy to sew it back on for you.
