Jibbed out... Whats your park/ride balance?

I've been hittin rails in my front yard for the last 9 days with no breaks. I just feel cramped up hiking the same stuff over and over again, but my friends are mostly all park freaks. I'm new to the park and still love to feel the wind in my hair on the black diamonds. I was just wondering how you guys spend your time on the mountain, is it all park, or do you go and shred it up on the runs pretty often too?

My favorite part of skiing is just screwing around on groomers, butters, log jibs, tree taps, gaps, all those lil nig nags

Im not going to lie... I could hike a flat rail or a flat down or a down all day if I had the energy

God that sounds nice, best of both worlds in one run. Some of the places I've been in colorado are like that, but nothing here in squarebanks

when its pow I ski Pow. Skied it the past several days - took today off cuz 'm wiped out from hitting the pow hard. I'll be back in the park tomorrow (unless I hit the BC)

around 10% in park, 90% outta the park.

People seem to forget how much fun shit is located OUTSIDE of the park :P

then of course my mtn its a bout 100 ft from the lift to the park b/c the park has its own lift haha, so theres usually 1-2 runs a day out of the park...going to get lunch, beginning of day / end of day

Sometimes i just go out on my race skis and haul ass all day. Its super fun to make fast huge turns down the hill

I put on my full tilts and rossi bandits and cruise the moguls...

jk, i know its over....

I normally take a warm up run just cruisin a groomer or a steep run, then i mess around on the way to the park and stay there jst about all day

when im at my home mountain Wilmot (acutally its literaly a trash heap in Wisconsin) i only ski park cause the groomed runs are like 20 seconds long, but when i go out west i spend most of my time skiing trees, bowls, groomers ect.. and only spend like an hour or two in the park.

I ride park.
I love jibbing around on stuff, but I do that in the park when I feel like it...no pow here....i love pow though...

whoa dude y dont u go in the regional forums at all? i work at wilmot lol... im the kid with the all white suit and the 155cm skis lol

yeah, that and the deep stuff is what its all about, everyonce and a while i'll make lap through the park, but i couldn't stand to hike it all day

30% backcountry

60% in bounds (off piste - trees, steeps, and cliffs)

10% park

this year though my touring set up has been acting up on me. First my Marker Duke's broke, then my JJ's delamed. Combine that with a severe lack of snowfall in the region and I'd say currently my season has consisted of 40% park so far. Tomorrow morning I am picking my JJ's up from the shop and finally going out for a skin (it's been almost a month since my last tour)... so that 40% will drop over the next couple weeks.

i ski park on any day the weather is nice and the lift line on A51 is not ridiculous. If i'm not skiing park, I ski greens and sometimes a blue. It's not that i can't ski a double-black. I just don't want to exert that much energy. I'm a lazy ass g.

you have the opportunity to ride Keystone, get your ass in the fucking park or go hike some bowls right now or I will burn down your house you ungrateful FUCK!!

I like to mix it up a little bit. I ski Squaw so I'm super lucky to ski at a mountain where the park isn't the only sick option. On pow days I won't go near the park. On cloudy days where the snow is good I probably won't hit the park either. But on sunny days I like to take a few warm up runs and then make my way over to the park and stay there most of the day. If you are lucky enough to ski at a resort where there is more than just park you should take advantage of it.

this on the way to the park like already said, or rippin some woods and/or blacks on the way to the park, depends on the day, at smuggs, the park is at the very bottom so most runs come out to it.

I could hike a fun rail/ box all day. I'm in pretty good shape from football season, so I just bang reps out like its my job. If I start to sweat, I unzip my jacket, kill some groomer, then zip up again and go back to the park.

I call Bullshit I am the laziest MoFo I know and I get bored as shit if

I have to be on blues all day, I mean you can only straight line and

carve huge GS turns on a 30-20 pitch so long before you need something

more.

That said me

30% groomers with the fam

30% in the seeps

30% chasing the pow wherever that might be

10% in the park I want to up that to 30% but hey I just started hitting jumps this year

Jay Peak is my home so like: 60% off-piste30% whatever else i feel like that day5% outer/out-of bounds5% park because it's so shitty
anywhere else it's like 50/50 park and normal runs

I def miss the speeds I used to get on race skis. My twins are pretty slow, I can't even catch my telemarker dad... I have to get out there on my board if I really want to hall.

I usualy hike a rail until im at the point where im shaking because im so hungry tired... other than that im laping the park. if im on the hill then it means that the park is closed and im hot doggin it with some homies.

Well, I ride in WI, so 45 second groomers aren't that fun, and powder isn't realistic. So that being said, 95% of my riding is in the park. Plus, I'm the park supervisor so I'm required to be in the park :)

But (I'm a boarder) I take pride in being able to ride any run switch (remember: WI) and I am solid in the moguls, which most of these lame ass park rats would be pissing themselves if they accidentally found themselves in.

So true. I got dominated when I took my board to A-Basin and tried to bomb the moguls, I was wishing I had my skis... I'll know better next time.
