word has it they are switching it over to snowboarding cause they think there is a bigger fan base there and they can make more money than from skiers

Pretty stupid. Especially the whole "we'll update more than every 2 months this year"....5 months later....

the only reason I think something happening is who would waste the money to host their site.
 
I love how Papa is stillllll claiming that unfunny prank in a thinly veiled attempt to sound like he has some insider knowledge. The truth is that Jib-Life has no idea when Jib-Life is coming out—and 8 years after it was announced—it might never.
 
I don't think any of you understand how challenging it is to create a 3d videogame. It is extremely time consuming and there are many things to get done before a final release... it usually doesn't take 8 years, but who knows what they have been up to. You guys talk about them as if they owe you something... If I was JibLife I would definitely have been deterred by all of the negativity.
 
that's the thing: there's nothing to vouch for, man. I saw the thread, I saw the PMs (papa put those in a donator thread), and I saw(see) you trying to also wring your hands about all of it. Like I said, Jib-Life didn't give up any sort of info that other people aren't already privy to. I'm sorry, I know you guys think you really accomplished something, but it's just not so.
I posted an absurdly long, detailed control scheme for a SKATE like ski game in the "my dad works for EA" thread, and Jib-Life came in and got his hands dirty. He had a ton to say, and it was a similar situation in that Jib-Life came to the plate to defend the project, bash EA, blahblah. He made all sorts of promises, claims about a release and frequent updates, and none of it panned out. That was at least a year and a half ago. OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH cllllllllllaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiimmmmmm I know stuff!!!!
My whole point is that regardless of what Jib-life told you or him, there's no reason to expect it to be valid, accurate, or true. You been here long? Jib-life was literally announced about......8 years ago? years before I signed up, anyway.

but yea, i've been here for a few years, long after jiblife was announced, everything you said makes sense

my thoughts right now are kind that it might be cool if it does ever come out, but i don't have any real expectations for it
 
I here that to an extent, and I'm not trying to really hate on JL at this point. I think we all just want a quality ski game at this point—be it tomorrow or two years from now.
The whole issue, or the "you owe us" mentality, is the result of unnecessary hype that has been repeatedly stoked by the developers despite having next to nothing to show for it. That's like me putting all this effort into making sure everyone knew I was building a time machine before I had even begun to think about the mechanism of how such a thing would actually work. Honestly, any of the negative backlash towards JL is completely the result of their doing. Period. You think people don't want to get behind this? Of course they do. But, people don't like being misled and they don't like delays....and they especially hate broken promises.
The good news is that if and when JL drops, and if it's fun and quality, all will be forgiven. For my part, I will gladly buy a copy when the time comes, and give credit where credit is due.
 
Looks like it's time to say this again.
The only updates on the game you should pay any attention too will either appear on the official site, fb page, or partner sites.
Keep the positive vibes going (thanks to those of you who are), or hop on the hate train. Either way please be careful what you believe in regards to this and keep your eyes towards the official channels for any real updates.

Any one remember when they even went so far as to launch a separate forum and collected donations? The forum was almost instantly dicks and I am yet to see anything come from the donations. The shit is a complete scam.
 
There's 1 of 2 things wrong with you.

1. You lack basic reading skills.

2. You have a mental disability that makes it nearly impossible to read an entire thread.

Jib-Life (The real company) didn't make that thread. That thread was made by donators who decided to troll all the non-donators. It was papa_lanks' idea. Also, nobody ever collected donations.
 
you can adjust the thug level, so it gets pretty hard core; smokin weed, beating up cops who try to stop you, skiing out of bounds, using bad words... stuff like that
 
Oh so you are the one with the mental handicap! I fucking know that check the money sign. I am referring to a few years ago when they launched an independent site with only a forum and actually were collecting donations.

so i just went on their facebook page and there is nothing about clthing design or whatever but all it says is that its a video game and that they were tired of unrealistic skiing games so they better be bringing this thing out soon

Seriously though the prank was over by the time I had donator status and I was pissed.
 
Well you can see in the screenshot that guy posted earlier that they have some sort of working demo going on running unity web player. i tried navigating to the address in his address bar but it's password protected. Something could be coming.
 
i assume the POC after the normal jiblife website stands for proof of concept, the demo/screenshot/beta/whatever it is was probably used in their patent/copyright process...username is in the screenshot if anyone wants to guess a password haha
