Jib Academy or Semi Formal

Alright so I just found out that my school's semi formal is the night before Jib Academy. I really want to do jib academy seeing that its at my home mountain (Holiday Valley) and I've really been pushing myself hard this season to learn new stuff. BUT my girlfriend really wants me to go to semi and she's going to be pretty pissed if I tell her I cant go because I want to go skiing. My parents leave every friday night to go to my place at Holiday Valley and they said that I have to pick one or the other. So which one should I pick? I'm leaning towards doing Jib Academy but I'm not sure yet.
 
if it's the night before your answer is simple
go to the dance, get laid
wake up early, have a redbull and ski

Jib Academy. Definitely the better option. Promise your girl some amazing night or something, the following weekend.
 
No doubt, go skiing. Girls are around year-round pretty much wherever you go, but skiing is only around for less than half a year and won't be wherever you go. Seems like an obvious answer to me.

there will not be anymore jib acadamy after you turn 16! this could be your one shot a going pro!

where will you have more fun? going to semi? or shredding at you LOCAL hill, with all your buds, and skiing with the pros, having a blast. (the answer is skiing)

Can you find a ride up later that night after formal? Then you get the best of both worlds. Bus, Taxi depending on how far it is?
 
fuck that. just go to the jib acadeny. chance to go pro. if she gets mad at you buy her something nice or take her out for a really nice dinner or something like that. im sure she will understand
 
why is this even a question. We all know your going to end up going to Jib academy. who the hell would go to a semi-formal over skiing anyway. you have like 5 of those a years.

jib academy, your only 16(?), there will be plenty more school functions (aka winterformal etc.) for you and your girl to go to. Jib academy is a one day where you get a ton of free stuff and get to ski/learn shit with pros.
 
ok honest non-scarcastic answer..

If your girl really cares for you and your are actually good to her then she should understand the situation.. I am what alot of people call "whipped" for the sole reason that I will do alot of shit for my girl that alot of guys wont.. and because I do all that extra shit If a situation like this comes up, Its not a huge deal to go skiing, or to a DH race or what ever.. what goes around comes around.. if you are a gentlemen to your girl and treat her well I would think that it should be ok with her.. just be nice to her, treat her extra well and take her out for a nice night on the town to make up for it.. and talk to her about it, NS is going to be a biased source..

talk to her about it and tell her this is like all of the school dances to her all put into night for you and that it could be the best night of your teenage life.. girls get all emotional about dances and missing one is kinda a big deal.. so promise you will go to the next dance no matter what.. and follow through with it..
 
what do you like better, skiing or dancing?
what would be easier, finding another girl friend or driving 7 hours to the next jib academy?
how many dances are there each year? how many times will jib be at your home mountain?
 
tell her that this could be the biggest thing in your life so far (which i think may very well be true). there will be other semi-formals but this may be once in-a-lifetime. if shes not down with who you are (a skier and this sort of thing goes along with it) then fuck her. metaphorically of course... ok both. then leave
 
hey i was there too! what a coinkydink! considering im gonna be in jib academy, as long as you dont beat me get down there man. dances are way overrated.
 
same here! i was wearing blue jacket, white pants, this years booters, and ar6s from last year...

and i yelled "YO! is that a gopro!" to a kid there when i was on the lift, and he said yeah (it was the helmet cam) he had invaders i think. which one of you is that kid?
 
I'd say Jib Academy. If you're 16 then this is your last year to compete right? Dances can happen any time, but Jib Academy is a sick opportunity. And if you have a GF then it's not like you're missing the chance to get dirty with girls. Just tell her how big a deal this event is and how much it means to you. She should understand.
 
living in ny, you only have about 4 months to ski, and you probably can't even go every day. your girl can have the rest to her. and its not like your riding around, your going to a camp to learn some shit. skiing hands down
 
is jib formal and option?
like got to the jib academy event in a tux?
you would get mad kudos from the judges. And all the lady skiers would want your nuts.

 
jib academy for sure. talk to your girl about it and let her know what it means to you. and if she's still pissed don't worry because she won't be your last girlfriend in your lifetime.
 
fuck girfriends. ns'ers are always bitching about how your g-friend wont let you do this or that! what the fuck people! its iether her or skiing, and due to all the threads on this subject, im gonna say skiing usually wins.
